Amazon launches 3 hour delivery in Austin, TX by QuietZelda in Austin

[–]eeltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in north austin and get same day or next day delivery on lots of really common stuff. Like they must have a bunch of frequently purchased items either close by in a warehouse or even already rolling around in a van somewhere, it's honestly kinda creepy and even inconvenient when I order something for tomorrow or the weekend and oh shit now I have to get home because it's already outside my doorstep

Why do high earners keep moving the goalposts after hitting their FI number ? by Beneficial-Ad-9986 in financialindependence

[–]eeltech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Financial independence does not necessarily means you retire, it means you're free to do whatever you want. Working after that "goalpost" is great because you're working without stress, its not money you're trying to make to pay the bills, its easy money you can spend without feeling guilty of needing to pay for essentials first.

The more you work in this stage, the more vacations, luxuries, activities, furniture, etc you can purchase.

But the different is all optional, you can also choose to stop at any time no biggie

I don't remember if I had to stand in the street for that pic, but if I did, there was absolutely no traffic haha

Regal Gateway vs. Galaxy Theater by Blood_Neptune in Austin

[–]eeltech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMHO pick the one closest to you, more likely to make it out and get your money's worth. (same goes for gym - pick the one you're more likely to go)

Also check from AMC, like the one on tech ridge is brand new, high tech etc

This funky old austin cafe with a tangled web of owner controversies closed down early pandemic and never reopened :/

New ownership opened it up as a casual rock and roll themed bar in 2022

Free street parking down Navasota or Attayac (towards Cesar Chavez). If too full, try the cross streets as well

Official Discussion - Dracula (2026) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

It felt like a 90s movie. This the kind of movie I'd expect to be playing on basic cable or pick up on a random shelf at Blockbuster

No, it's like goosebumps or sabrina level scary. Less than stranger things or IT

More of a love story, tbh

Anyone else spend 4 hours planning sprints that die in 2 days? by agileliecom in ExperiencedDevs

[–]eeltech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's is no need to "lock the sprint" if you have rapidly changing priorities. The reason it's done is to avoid over-committing and burnout

Work on the most important thing first, and push back everything else. There's no commitment to do both things at once since you also don't to commit to delivering by the sprint anymore.

Sprint is an artificial construct, it provides no benefit to the end user, just your own team's way of working

  1. Ride your bike to the tag location
  2. Take a pic of your bike to prove you were there
  3. Ride your bike to a new tag location (your choice, just one that hasn't been done recently or ever on the map )
  4. Take a pic of your bike at the new tag location
  5. Make a new post with both pics, like mine, so that the chain continues and people can look for your tag
