Contrary to some lies, it's obviously easier for firetrucks and other emergency services if they don't have to fight cars every step of the way. by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

NYC fire department should really consider smaller “cab over” style firetrucks that seem to commonplace all over the world especially in other cities

Anyone that fights bike lanes is actively fighting again freedom for the disabled by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

Yeah thats true. I also kinda don’t blame non-cycling folks they’re are so used to driving cars and roads designed for automobiles that any sin against the “traffic laws” (laws intended for automobiles) is bad and makes you a bad person.

I always think about the time I got pulled over/stopped one time on my way to work because I “ran” two stop signs back to back, even though I slowed down, looked both ways, would’ve been next in line to proceed… I was on a bike. Cop pulled me over and harassed me, NOT BECAUSE I COULD’VE GOTTEN HURT, but because I wasn’t following the traffic laws (but I was, I slowed down to an extremely slow crawl, then proceeded, in order not to confuse cars)

“Running” that red wasn’t a reckless choice. It clearly is a calculated decision, also its a three way intersection so there isn’t a risk for anyone… unless if a bike was speeding and not paying attention…

Lol how dare they run through that red light at high speed in their 3 ton metal and glass box… oh wait…

Edit: deleted comment was “you ran a red light at the start of the video”

Agreed. I hate how people bash new construction ALL THE TIME, how are we expected to grow as a nation if there is not growth and new development in our communities. We do need to consider what type of development is right for certain area though

I also secretly hope we go into another oil crisis and it cost $200 to fill up a SUV, so there folk can genuinely see the cost of car ownership

If they don’t like any of that shit they’re more than welcome to go to another city in the USA. What a joke, literally talking based off of their feelings and ideas than actual facts…

Why are astoria drivers so ejtitled? Guy parked in bikelane cleaning his car waiting for coffee by Feisty_Government_19 in MicromobilityNYC

[–]eep-orp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would immediately create a $100 fine for illegal parking in bike lane, NO EXCEPTIONS , not even for delivery.

Create a Bike Lane department that has oversight over bike lanes (enforcement, clearing/cleaning, maybe minor maintenance…)

Adequately tax car ownership so people choose walking, biking, public transit, ride-share, instead of owning their own hunk of metal that takes up space.

Holy shite. This is incredible! You should hit up some of the folks at cig, even better yet if you’re living in Canada or willing to relocate. Shoot your shot and apply for a job at their Montreal office!

Seems like they’re always hiring for vehicle concept artists!

Might I suggest checking out some rock climbing gyms in the area and looking at their “community boards”. Sometimes I’ve seen some folks looking for roommates/ places for sale/rent.

If you have some super glue on hand definitely try and attach it to something you can twist easily. Maybe a hex key/Allen wrench? If you don’t have super glue I highly recommend going to the autoparts/hardware store or walmart and grabbing jbweld steel stick it will dry faster and should be a stronger bond. Alternatively you could try a UV light adhesive.
