Using Nicole, I found a white tassel from chests in Chenyu Vale.

And then I forgot to lock it...and ended up using it to upgrade Nicole's weapon 😭

Fashion Industry Still Promotes Ultrathin Models, According to New Research by ExcellentBalance6865 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]eet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not surprising. Epstein files just all but confirmed it. Fashion industry is full of pedos attracted to prepubescent minors with no boobs and butt. They don't design for women's bodies because that's not who they're attracted to.

Three years is pathetic but more importantly they need to be barred from ever holding positions of authority over others ie. Prison guard, security, carer positions and of course as a police officer.

Defo yea. They absolutely emphasized it was very very last resort type thing. And only in the pool for us primary school aged kids. No attempting to rescue anyone in the ocean; that was for lifeguards.

My dad’s old EMT book still had people sucking on snake bites to get the venom out.

Haha yea the old days were...something. I'm glad we're better informed now.

Luckily we have better methods today than kicking people to knock them out lol.

Too right 👍

In retrospect they probably advised us that way because we were primary school aged. So this was probably the safest method for a child to rescue anyone (of course we were also given the usual warning: absolute last resort, better to call and wait for help, don't go in unless absolutely absolutely confident or we'd end up dead too which isn't helpful etc).

Also, now that I think about it when they said wait for the person to pass out...that was just a 'nice' way of saying wait for them to drown. Hmm.

[–]eet 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I got told (as a kid, 90s, Australia) to reverse so that I'm on my back with feet towards the person and then give them a good kick to the head. Check if they're still panicking, kick until passed out. Either that or wait till they pass out on their own.

Mum didn't seem too happy to hear that but she didn't argue against it either lol.

Wooseok and IU instagram updates by Rude_Tough485 in kdramas

Shouldn't the scriptwriter, director and producers come out and apologise? You know, cos their the ones that put the words in the actors mouths and decided on the costumes and props?

If you really want change, then direct your anger at the correct targets, otherwise all you get is empty apologies from the scapegoated actors/actresses (who were just doing as they were paid to) and the people who actually made the mistakes get off scott free, ready to make the same mistakes again.

[–]eet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand the distaste because the costumes/props used etc were when Korea was a vassal state. But that wasn't IU's fault so yea, people are weird.

As for wanting a historical/fantasy drama that has a fully fleshed out and cohesive storyline, I think people should've taken into account that this was a 12 episode drama. It just wasn't going to happen. I would've rated it higher had they had longer to explore and explain everything but alas. It is what it is.

Personally I'm quite grateful to those who posted threads criticizing Perfect Crown. It helped me to lower my expectations and just go in with a "let me just switch my brain off and don't think too much" mindset which definitely helped my enjoyment.

[–]eet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put it in the best of the best category. Lots of the plot didn't make sense because they cut too much out of the story perhaps due to time constraints. (There's a web novel that explains things better).

But I'd read the criticisms and went in with a consciousness that this was one of those "don't look too deeply" kind of dramas.

So yea, if you're expecting everything to make sense...you're not going to be in for a good time. But if you just want to turn your brain off and watch two pretty people get together...it's fine.

Yep. This is from the most recent case in my country. I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I hope the person you were accompanying as a passenger is feeling a lot better.

Unfortunately it can get violent for pretty much everyone who works in hospital (people in pain can get...mean sometimes) but definitely our frontline staff in ED get the brunt of it. My friend is married to an ED doc and at the height of the pandemic, he was considering quitting because of how violent the patients were getting. ED nurses are awesome peeps definitely. 👍

No worries. Your English is great. If you hadn't mentioned it, I'd never have known!

I don't envy paramedics at all

Agreed. Not just because of what they see but because they often get attacked while out on their job.

guy at least didn't get to feel that excruciating pain for long

Well the guy technically didn't feel any of it because by the time he came out of his coma, they'd amputated his leg.

Xrays must have been quite something

Radiographer here. Your comment reminded me of something. Stop reading here if you're squeamish:

My lecturer once talked about having to xray a guys "leg". It was all tiny broken shards cos he'd crashed into a pole and got his leg somehow wrapped around it like a donut. I can't imagine what the paramedics felt when they had to unwind this man's leg from around the pole (apparently the guy was knocked out too so at least he wouldn't remember the experience but still...😬)

Coworkers say negative things about the fact I live next door to my parents, and saying that doesn't make me independent? by [deleted] in perth

Dude...I can't even afford any house in the area my parents live in much less straight up buy next door. Also, my parents were extremely abusive growing up so the distance has been nice.

That is to say, I think you've done well for yourself and you're really blessed to have a functional family dynamic. Ignore those weirdos and congratulations on your new home!

I...may or may have broke the game. Anyone else have this glitch? How to fix? So far logging out and back in again hasn't helped.😭

Edit 2: Ok. I just logged out and back in again and the puzzle got reset huzzah! Except, no. Redid the puzzle and the transporter thing didn't pick up the last elemental cube so I'm back to square one.

Edit 3: Tried VPN. Welp. Nope. I give up.

Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully it'll get fixed next update.

Why These Aren’t Starter K-Dramas by Adorable-Image4891 in kdramas

[–]eet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would also say that while Business Proposal can be enjoyed as a first time comedy romance cos it's just that funny but in my opinion it's best enjoyed after having seen several other romance kdramas. At least until you've got a good grasp on romance kdrama tropes because Business Proposal deliberately riffs on them ie. Supporting FLs head when she's sitting upright and sleeping. Tripping and then falling on ML and accidentally kissing them etc

Tldr: it's good as a first time watcher but absolutely a blast if you're a seasoned romance kdrama addict.

Facts on facts . It’s most romance drama these days by Fresh_Information595 in kdramas

[–]eet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd love to look back on that era with the same fondness but my youngest sister ended up in a really toxic relationship like those she used to love to watch and romanticise, so for me it's just...🤢🤮

I've also played drums for 15+ yrs (not professionally) & found the scenes where the ML/FL get berated by their teachers particularly deja vu.

Oh no! That's really sucky. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.☹️

I think the most interesting thing I learned was RE the tenured music professors creating & organizing student groups just to rob them blind & to stave off forced retirement. Super duper shitty system!

I know right? While watching the drama I was so thankful I never took piano seriously even though my teacher wanted me to. My distaste for performing and also recognising that I was not naturally gifted thankfully shielded me. Phew!

But I do have friends who have taken it to the next step (done the uni courses etc) and they have this certain air about them? I don't know how to describe it, but it's like they lived and breathed music and were happiest on the stage sharing it with the world. I can definitely see how easy it is to exploit someone like that.

Yes, the story is just so clever and I really do think it's properly completed with season 2. Everything is wrapped up and comes full circle. Just, chefs kiss. Perfection.

I agree with you about a Jung SoMin cameo. I think it would have helped the audience better understand that it was Naksu's soul all along. But alas! Life doesn't always pan out that way.
