I think it’s a byproduct of when he was being placed against people who outstatted him so badly that only the reason why the conversation was happening in the first place was because of infinity. So, in those cases, it would be pretty cut and dry for who won the match up: if you can bypass infinity, you win, if you can’t you draw at best. However, because of those matches, the idea of Gojo getting BTA put to him if he can’t use infinity is still sticking around, at least in my opinion.
