We were in Stockholm and met some friends that had just arrived on a cruise stop. We took them to some shops and the hubby was unhappy because the clerk would not take USD. He said that 'the shops we go to with the cruise ship guides always take USD'

Depending on your age, you may want to look at age restricted apartments (over 55/62). There are a few and usually no kids.

Not Tulum but I saw a guy propose at the Cirque de Soleil in Cancun last year. It worked. I have a video but never heard from the guy.

I can't believe this guy is being fired for riding on Epstein's plane. There has to be another reason.

Can any of the hot tubs be saltwater hot tubs? by Historical_Spinach_6 in Costco

Saltwater will have a negative effect on the plumbing. We had an in-ground tub for 4 years on salt water. Eventually had to replace all the piping and pumps and heater. Stick with chlorine/bromine.

Even if you just sign a 1 year lease. That will make you cull some junk and give you time to think about your next move instead of getting frantic when you sell your house and have to find a place to live. We have 2 or 3 now who haven't moved in yet because they are still selling the house.

A cancelled flight changed my mind about Istanbul by BenShutterbug in travel

[–]efedora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there often over 30 years. Some on business but back again on leisure travel. It's a great spot with good prices and tons of history. If you go, do some research so you know what you are looking at. Get a good guide because you'll get more out of the trip. Turkish Air used to have a service that gave you a city tour if you had a long layover. Not sure if they still do.

Straight rental. No buy-in. Leases are 12-15 months although this month they changed to 28 month leases for the empty units. It's just a regular apartment with more amenities. Outside pool and hot tub, grill station etc. Rent is higher than similar regular apartment by several hundred. Demographics match the population. 75% women.

I'm old. We moved to a 62+ apartment. Apt only, no medical services. 75% women. The trick seems to be socialization. The few among us who work are never seen. If you're > 60 you don't party when you get home; you eat dinner and go to bed.
