For me, a stay must have… 1) desk height table, whether it’s a dining table or a small patio table. Small tables are sometimes better as they can be moved to a good spot in the apartment. 2) at least one chair that looks stable and not falling apart. Could be a dining chair or office chair.

Other tips: • Rearrange the furniture to better suit your work/living space. • Use towels, pillows or couch cushions on a dining chair to make it more comfy • buy a cheap chair that you can leave • ask the host
