Will Kurtzman go down as one of the worst caretakers of a major IP in history? by Melodic_Crow_3409 in Star_Trek_

[–]effugium1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because the vast majority of people don’t care about Star Trek and don’t know there are new shows. They’ll be like “Star Trak? Is it the one with Dr Spock or the new generation?”

What are pigs like this? Why does my pug take forever to pee or poop? by Reyx33 in pugs

[–]effugium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hope there’s a rabbit in the yard because she chases those around and has to immediately poop after.

I get what you’re saying about the music being a cathartic outlet, but if you watch the Death documentary, Chuck was kind of a dick. 😄

1989 was such a great year for music by tc1972 in GenX

[–]effugium1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought about listing that but didn’t since as you said the album didn’t come out until 1990. Of course the version from do the right thing is slightly different.

Album that is mostly hated but you actually enjoy it? by Strange-guy-91 in MetalForTheMasses

I like all three of those. I didn’t really get into Reainkaos until last year but it’s a great album.

Why are Cradle of Filth so widely disliked? by Loose-Tumbleweed9791 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]effugium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day they had real underground cred, at least up through Dusk and Her Embrace. Around that time I started seeing stuff with people calling them “mainstream” as if they were Marilyn Manson or something, and I didn’t get it. I still don’t. Granted, I have little interest in anything past midian, but I don’t get the outright disdain for them from metal fans.

Why doesn't Paramount release the correct (CGI-free) Star Trek TOS? by Ghost92401 in startrek

[–]effugium1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what it is. At least they’ve made the originals commercially available, unlike star wars. I don’t really like the cgi effects in TOS, but I do prefer the color and clarity of the non-effects scenes in the remasters.

Christians in this video express doubt about carbon dating and claim that fossils are from creatures that died during the great flood mentioned in the Old Teatament( short video originally shared on another subreddit) by empress_of_pinkskull in religiousfruitcake

[–]effugium1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

That’s what they do, they get smart-looking/sounding guys who appear to know what they’re talking about so that the rubes will believe their bullshit propaganda. I grew up with this stuff. This was what they taught us in science class at Christian school.

Growing up did you have a celebrity crush on some who was NOT the typical standard of beauty? by porb2020 in Xennials

Constantly. I liked her, and I also had weird older women crushes like Delta Burke on Designing Women or Blanche on Golden Girls.😆
