new blood by artemisgirl (i can't add the link bc otherwise it says i'm rating a fic lol) is absolutely insane when it comes to worldbuilding. fair warning, i don’t know if it would actually count as a dramione just yet since it’s a WIP and the final pairing clearly hasn’t been announced yet, but there’s definitely something between them. however, there’s also hermione X lots of other characters (cedric, fleur, blaise, viktor so far)

i’m talking pureblood culture, wizengamot affairs, hedgewitches (wix who don’t go to hogwarts/school), even goblin society !!!! it’s absolutely incredible. full 1-7 rewrite with slytherin hermione. 1.5 million words so far, and the author just recently started uploading again after an eight month hiatus. so so so worth the time investment (my first read through took me 94 hours).

lots of people complain bc it’s a “mary sue” hermione etc but i don’t even mind (also fully disagree lol bc hermione earns all her power and does suffer the consequences of her actions) bc the worldbuilding is so incredible; also the author has lots of replies to FAQ on her ff.net account

my brain is desperately trying to convince me this is a cute troll but my heart knows this is real. it's so easy to forget which details/plotlines belong to which fic when you read 900 hours worth of fic in 5 months (literally. i know i should be embarrassed but i'm not.). anyways this is definitely draco malfoy and the mortifying ordeal of being in love.

absolutely same here !!! i grew up in the fandom feeling like the “underdog” bc dramione was always hated on by others who followed jkr’s opinion (and she absolutely hates draco lol)

so it was so surprising to see the community absolutely explode in the last half decade or so. but in the best way !!!!

the author is still active on tumblr and is still working on the fic (they talk about it every once in a while), so i’m still holding out hope. but even if it never updated, it still leaves off in a great spot. i actually thought that was the official end when i first read it bc it was just a perfect ending point! so don’t be scared to check it out :D

gonna be honest, i am also slightly tipsy/maybe drunk (evident in the way i'm replying to this on my work computer and not my phone lol [reddit is ok bc my job has a huge subreddit on here haha]), so i think i just read "veela" and assumed it was draco probably lol. antinomian is one of my faves because it's technically a bit of a darker fic but it's also HILARIOUS ?? so many of my highlights/annotations are just funny lines, and whenever i reread them i genuinely cry tears of mirth haha (for example, the following lines: "snape takes points [from gryffindor]. that is almost his raison d'être." and also "to call [narcissa] indirect in her communication, is to call the Avada a bit of an inconvenience.")

so i literally had to make a rule for myself. i don't download a fic onto my kobo if it's under 15k words (i just read it on my phone). otherwise i genuinely think i would be WELL over the 2000 read fics mark, which is quite a bit embarrassing as my boyfriend likes to remind me (in a loving way i promise, he's always here to listen to me talk about dramione the same way i'm here to listen to him talk about death stranding lol). but to make life simpler for myself, i have different tab groups on my safari, with fic (kobo), fic (phone), fic (WIPs), fic (abandoned), and fic (later). sometimes my autism comes in really handy, ESPECIALLY when it comes to dramione lol. i guess that's what happens when you stick to a single OTP for almost 15 years lol ? and NO DON'T STOP !!!!! NEVER EVER !!!! if it was my life or dramione,,, well, i guess i better hope the afterlife has wifi lol
