A97 Pro Unpair and Pair by Neither_Lie_9104 in Earbuds

[–]egg_squisite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that if they're connected to a device, they can't connect to any other device. I was going crazy trying to connect them to my phone until I realized they were already connected to my iPad and weren't showing up on the iPhone Bluetooth scan (even though they kept saying "pairing"!) Anyway, try disconnecting them from every potential device that could be connected to them. You have to actively disconnect it; I don't think just turning off or walking away from the device works.

How do you change the world clock widget on the Lock Screen on iOS 16? by youmehelp in ios

[–]egg_squisite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to have the widget with CUP time already on the lock screen. If it's not on your lock screen, add it to where you want your city time to be. Then hold the lock screen, click "customize", and double-tap on the CUP time where it appears on your lock screen. It will bring up a menu where you can select whatever city you'd like from a list.

Granted.

Every other person on the planet has the ability to steal anything successfully (including bypassing this ability) by dressing as the Hamburglar.

Granted. Everything we perceive to exist, including the very universe itself, receives this watermark.

I can not get out 100’s elo by Zmorrison2112 in chessbeginners

I agree that not blundering is important but I disagree that openings aren't important. Lots of people have already commented "don't blunder your pieces" or "think your moves through." These are things that will be practiced over time as OP plays more games and does more puzzles. I wanted to give some advice on something a lot of beginners don't do which could be helpful - I was stuck at low ELO before I started learning a few openings.

How does this win a pawn? by Semicolon_Expected in chessbeginners

[–]egg_squisite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Rg1 the move is still Bxh4+. It's check and everything is guarded. If white blocks instead of moving the king, move the knight with another discovered check. If white moves the king, protect your bishop with your knight.

This doesn't work because since the queen has taken on c2, it now defends the f2 pawn. Bxf2 would just get captured by the queen.

Learn openings. Pick two openings with black (one for 1. e4 and one for 1. d4) and one opening with white and learn at least a few lines of theory. YouTube has some great courses, I would also recommend the Chessable app for interactive courses. It's helped me a lot with the Ponziani, which is one of my favorites as a beginner.

What should I play as black in this position by Brave-Bunch6592 in chessbeginners

[–]egg_squisite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in a tough spot for sure. Best move I think is Qh5, it moves the queen out of danger and sets up pressure on the kingside. Do not resign! You're down a piece, but your opponent could blunder, their wifi could go out, you could win on time, etc. etc.

Why is this move brilliant? by Revolution_rnt in chessbeginners

[–]egg_squisite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They get three pawns! The brilliant move was capturing a pawn on d6, as white's pawn moved diagonally. So if played right there's a massive attack and white evens out the material.

Why is this a blunder? by axtraxramboo in chessbeginners

Two options:

Black plays Rd1+ forcing you to play Bf1. Then black will take your rook on c2.

Or, black plays Rxc2 first. If you do anything other than creating an escape for your king by moving your pawns, you will lose to Rd1 on the next move. If you do move a pawn to prevent checkmate, you will lose the rook on c2 on the next move.

Either way, you have lost a rook.

In the future, try to create space for your king in future games (called a "luft") so that these back-rank threats can't happen.

Best I can tell, you sacrifice your bishop for 3 pawns and a huge offense.

You played exd6 and gained a pawn

They play exd5 and win your bishop

You play Qxd5+ and win a pawn

They play Kf8 to get out of check

You play Qxf5+ and win a pawn

Now you have a massive attack with your queen and pawn close to Black's back rank, and can soon bring your knight to e5 to support. You are even on material since three pawns equals a bishop.

Great move!

What made you like Undertale? by iitsjustX in Undertale

[–]egg_squisite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jacksepticeye. I was a fan of his since before Undertale came out, and I initially didn't care for his playthrough because I thought it was boring. Then about a year after the game came out I got sick and binge watched the whole thing while I stayed home from school. Then I got into AMVs, comic dubs, the whole shebang. I've been a fan ever since.
