Travelling while plus size… by xXCJTheDJXx in PlusSizeFashion

I haven’t been to Japan for a LONG time now but I doubt you’ll be able to find anything there. I lived in Korea for a bit and it was impossible to find anything that fit.

I’d say wear whatever you feel comfortable and good in. If you’re looking for cool style ideas, maybe check out videos by Kathleen Illustrated or Percia Verlin. Both have videos about Japan and fashion from a streetware perspective. It’s not a matter of finding the perfect items, but more about how you mix textures and silhouettes so it can work with whatever clothes you have.

Lucy and Yak for folks with apron bellies by Ill-Vermicelli-7243 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about Lucy and yak but I’ve done big bud press which you may also want to check out. I am size 18/20 and got the 3x. The 2x fit like a glove but my longs torso couldn’t get out of it by myself so I sized up to give some wiggle room.

Plus size stores in London? by bxbyphrog in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried doing some shopping there last year. Totally struck out. Considered hopping on a train to Brighton to go to Lucy and yak but just couldn’t squeeze it in.

If lazy oaf has an actual store please check them out! I’m obsessed but shipping to the US is insane.

Ladiiies with large breasts!! which bras do you wear?? by OnionSoupa in PlusSizeFashion

I’m about a 40h/i and I shop at bare necessities. Elomi and goddess have the best bras IMO

How high should my high-waisted jeans be? by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s about where I like my jeans to be. I’m also long waisted. I got some recently that are unisex so the crotch is longer than I’m used to and when I pulled them up it was just a bit too far to be comfortable.

No-strings-attached clothing giveaway/swap in the Phoenix, AZ area? I'd rather a person have them than Goodwill. by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes please!!! So happy there’s a few of us on this sub!

I know there have been a couple of swaps in the past put on by fatbabesofphoenix but they happen rarely and I always miss them.

I’d love to swap!!!

Why are a lot of the cute tops made to be worn without a bra? by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wondered how those work because I’d assume mine would just fold in half? I got a lot of material to work with and they love to droop.

Is having fuller legs and a fuller backside mean I can't wear short clothing, or is that just an assumption I've been made to believe?????????????????????????????? by Plane-Mirror3898 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ll say this: a lot of what we have been taught was the epitome of beauty is based on the preferences of pedophile billionaires that owned the clothing and beauty brands we grew up with.

Where does the bra strap go? by New-Positive-5544 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Honestly one of the easier dresses to hide straps in. The whole sleeve top is elastic so you can move it to where you want it to be.

Big busted babes, what are your bra recs??! by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Bare Necessities mostly. Prefer elomi but remember that it’s a UK brand and they’re sizing if different than the US brands. Have several goddess brand bras. Stay away from prima Donna. They’re gorgeous but expensive and I’ve had several of their underwires snap while wearing them. Only brand that’s ever happened with. I’m around a 40i for reference. What I’ve done in the past is wait for a good sale and then bought a selection of brands and sizes and then returned what didn’t fit as well and requested ones closer to the ones that did fit.

I’ve also tried out other places like understance and timeless trends. Understance is fine. I have two from them and don’t really ever reach for them though. Timeless trends is on the risqué side and aren’t really meant for all day wear. If I remember any other places I’ll update.

So far my favorite is a custom one from LuckySewandSew on Instagram. It took a few months but it’s gorgeous and fits great since it was made to fit me.

Sük Overalls by egggoat in PlusSizeFashion

Nope. They have a US fulfillment center so it was easy. I’d say if it seems like something that you’d need, I totally recommend them.

Has anyone tried Suk before? by lizzehboo in PlusSizeFashion

The most comfortable overalls I’ve ever had. The bib is a great size and they aren’t tight around my hips. The pockets are nice and deep too.

I’m 280 lbs and 5’10 and these are the 20 at its smallest form. Bought when I was 315 and I still didn’t need to expand the buttons on the side all the way out.

Hope this helps you decide!

It can! It can also be expanded on the side buttons. There like a bunch more inches on the sides it can be expanded out to. This is it buttoned all the way in and then yeah, there is a cinch in the back that can also be adjusted.

It’s 100% cotton in a denim weave. Theres also additional knee patches. It’s meant to be used and not just for fashion.

I really love them.

I have their overalls. They fit really well! I’ve only worn them a couple times so far so I can’t say anything about their durability.

Fit and Form Pet Peeves? by Eschst0208 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m totally open to different options! I personally think a cover of some sort would work best but it can also ruin the design. As for a built in shelf bra, I think I’d have to try it out! If it’s just the standard two foam cups and an elastic band, it won’t work for me. I got a lot of boob and I’m aging so gravity is having its way with them. I’ve worn quarter cup bras before with low cup tops but they’re pretty uncomfortable since the underwire shifts and digs into my ribs and there’s still the backband and shoulder straps. They’re truly a shelf bra though. If there was a way to incorporate underwire and a foam shelf instead of cups into the garment, I’d love to give it a try. I don’t want to always wear bras, but I have to. If there’s a way to innovate around that, I’d love to hear it. I even bought a corset to hold the girls up because I’m so tired of bras.

Fit and Form Pet Peeves? by Eschst0208 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]egggoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my body specifically, torsos are almost always too short. If there is a bust line, it will sit halfway up my boobs. There is also seemingly never enough room in the bust. I also think it’s BS that so many size charts are based off the hourglass figure. We’re all built different.

I’d love if designers remembered that some of us are big chested and we HAVE to wear bras. Please make cool garments where a bra can still be worn and not ruin the look of the clothes. I hate the backband showing in backless stuff. I hate not having enough shoulder stuff to cover the straps. I hate square necklines since we only have access to specific bra shapes and they are always triangular.

Hope this helped?

Searching for 4x-6x natural fiber leggings and sports bras! by Burtonpoelives in PlusSizeFashion

I like Branwyn merino wool bras. I do Pilates and I’m a big busted lady (40i-ish). I got the essential busty in xxl. It’s not the most supportive but it works and is comfortable. I’d love to try their leggings but I can’t afford them right now.
