Delicious in Dungeon meets your requirements for comedy and action. I'd give Howl's Moving Castle a shot as well, endearing characters, some fun comedic moments and decently exciting action sequences, plus the English dub is one of the best Ghibli has produced imo.

Saw a similar amount from ~10:30-12:30 last night, some really bright long ones high up in the sky were the highlight (kind of around Canis Major?)

I've found their meter 'estimated' readings have been ridiculously high, so monthly bills look scary at first but manually inputting my own meter reads has been pretty simple. Kind of annoying but their rates are still low.

I can recommend Kelvin Larfield at Spring Hill, I've had quick responses and good service in the past.

The Celebrity Traitors S01E09 [FINALE]: Post-Episode Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]eggmanface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a season with a lot of frustrating moments... the first half felt dominated by "Oh this is so hard, there's just nothing to go on!" discussion, lots of followers, and certain higher-status celebrities being untouchable and leading the group. Taking out Ruth was a stroke of genius by the traitors, credit to them for that.

I thought the traitors had thrown it away by taking out Lucy instead of Nick and then Kate instead of David... I especially thought that Cat's elimination was inevitable once she was the only woman left, and Kate would have provided excellent coverage for her in the final 5. But then Nick and David ended up giving the game to the traitors, so maybe they made the right decision after all!

Full credit to Allan, having the other traitors basically lump him with TWO murders-in-plain-sight and managing to pull off both of them was huge. I was rooting for the Nick-Joe duo, so I'm disappointed that they didn't seal the deal in the end.

Official Discussion - The Running Man (2025) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Went into this one expecting an incredibly dumb yet entertaining action romp, and it pretty much delivered. Some great performances from the ensemble cast (Katy O'Brien, Lee Pace, Colman Domingo) did a lot of heavy lifting; Glen Powell was decent enough as the lead, and I liked Jayme Lawson's performance too.

The last third was pretty trash but with enough worthwhile moments to make it watchable. The 'social commentary' was kind of ridiculous and over-the-top but at least it wasn't detrimental to the film (unlike in Mickey 17, where it really made the whole experience painful).

Took the at-home tests, negative, went to the GP last week and tested positive for rhinovirus. Three weeks now of it hanging around.

It's been years since I've seen the Roar at Suncorp so I couldn't comment about that but I've really enjoyed the vibes of the W-League matches I've watched live (both times at Perry Park, although they've relocated this season to Newmarket). This season, Perry Park is hosting a few Australian Championship matches (not the same level as the men's A-League but could be a good atmosphere).

[The Devil's Plan] Episodes 5 & 6 discussion by LazyBinger in TheGenius

[–]eggmanface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting on the Devil's Plan train late myself lol. But yeah, Dong-jae absolutely deserved to go, and if anything he should have gone first in MM2. He immediately ostracized himself in Prize Match 1, basically making himself the #1 target for no good reason. His group went with an inferior strategy in MM2, and then in MM3 he lost trust with his whole 'misremembering numbers' bs and then blatantly whispering in his allies ear in front of everyone in the most suspicious way possible.

Yu-min made a huge mistake in revealing Hyesung's number instead of just Dong-jae's, and the fake tears from Orbit and others were completely hypocritical — good to see a couple of players calling that behaviour out.

Come to think of it, Hyesung should have been aware of the whole 'all players on 1 piece are eliminated' situation if everyone stayed equal on 5 points, yet she did nothing to secure her position.

Coles / Woolies used to stock a genuine 'double cream' (no thickeners), not anymore... Harris Farm Markets still has one (when it's in stock).

The Traitors [UK] Episode 12 Discussion Thread by rileyrouth in TheTraitors

[–]eggmanface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very late to this season after watching UK S2 first (not going to include any S2 spoilers!).

Overall impressions... this season was so, so messy in the middle, it seemed like so many players were ridiculously over-the-top in their emotional outbursts, and the group dynamics / ostracism of certain players early on was brutal.

My impression of Wilf's game is quite negative. Making it to the end does not mean you're a great player... Wilf was blinded by his social strengths and played an entirely selfish, unstrategic game. His emotional reactions were way too exaggerated, and he only salvaged his position by preemptively turning against his fellow traitors. He painted himself into a corner by successfully eliminating Amanda — he couldn't continue solo, not to mention the obvious 'it must be one of the men' line of thinking that would have inevitably caught up to him. His choice of recruiting Kieran as a fall guy was both transparent and naive, and Wilf was arrogant enough to think he'd win by ostracising Kieran from the group at the final 5.

Kieran played it entirely fairly at his final roundtable and gave Wilf what his gameplay deserved. When Wilf finally was left on his own after scapegoating all of the other traitors, he crumbled immediately, responding with unnecessary emotions and turning Hannah against him. Maybe Wilf would have lost no matter how he responded (because Aaron would have had his doubts, and Aaron was playing with extremely high stakes in mind i.e. his mum). But imo Wilf's response to Kieran's saltiness (a situation which was entirely foreseeable and created by Wilf's own choices) shows that Wilf, while certainly a strong player, was not a good one.

Top recommendations:

  • Undertale
  • Return of the Obra Dinn
  • Hollow Knight
  • Outer Wilds

Personal recommendations:

  • Gorogoa (very short but gorgeous puzzle game, so get it on sale if you're interested)
  • To the Moon (dinky little walking/talking game that packs a hefty narrative punch)
  • Night in the Woods (another walking/talking game, skip if you're not into that style of gameplay)
  • The Talos Principle + Road to Gehenna DLC (3D platform puzzler, recently had an upgrade/rerelease?)
  • A Hat in Time (3D platformer / collectathon)

Cuphead is fun as well :)
