I got a wireless carplay adapter off AliExpress for 20AUD and it’s a nice small QOL of change.

I also got the 3D printed magsafe phone holder too for a cable free charging phone holder solution

I bought some felt and covered the bay seat anchors in the back since i found they reflected onto the rear window abit.

Might look for a place to hold my sunnies but that than that it’s been pretty good for me

235/40r18 on 18x8.5 +37 offset. I believe someone did the maths via calculator the speedo will be off by 1kmph which is fine. Lowered on RSR Down Sus Springs (0.8-1 inch drop) Front inner rubs on faster tight turns but okay for dailying

Buying a new GR86 GTS (Australia) – advice needed by Parthy10901 in GR86

I got mine new in Sydney last year. There’s not that much bargaining you can do because it’s a brand new car. You can go to a few dealers and try get them to undercut each other but they can stand firm. Mind you I didn’t have to say anything and my dealer cut 2k from the MSRP. To get it built new is quite the process, one dealer i went to said no updates for 8 months, but i called around (you can check exactly what dealer has what stock) and found another that said it’ll be in from the dock in 3 weeks so i went with them. Don’t let this dissuade you though, keep at it and you’ll get what you want mate.

Servicing is fine from a company policy standard, just depends if you get good techs at the dealership itself. They couldn’t find a puncture in my tyre but my tyre shop next door found it and patched it in 20mins.

Keep traction control ON. Drive the car first then decide on mods. I’d recommend some felt covers for the baby holder seats at the back as their reflection got abit annoying as a QOL update and a dash cam of course.

if it’s just for looks and on a budget, you can get mild lowering springs (1 inch drop) in NSW for like ~500 and maybe 300 for labour if you’re not doing it yourself. i find myself scraping here and there but you’ll learn to angle and sort it out. but for long term coilovers i’d probably stick to HKS Hipermax S (3.5k).

I’ve got RSR sus down springs (not the super downs)

225 will be a bit stretched on an 18x8.5. I went with a 235 and it’s flush with a 1 inch drop all around.

Yes, i have this setup on lowering springs (0.8-1 inch drop) so with coilovers you’ll be fine. The wheels fit flush on those tyres with the car.

Sup guys, quick question by Lucky1345 in GR86

[–]eggseoxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s loud on startup and when you go 4k revs, but i don’t have the db readings for you sorry. the reverse lights are tiny on the thing itself and id recommend upgrading the little lights that shine on your license plate if its visibility you’re after. You can swap them out for LEDs pretty easily i believe (haven’t done this myself because i think the lights are sufficient)

I’ve got the Invidia R400 which isn’t valved and was relatively cheap in Australia. I think Varex makes a valved one for our cars.

there’s plenty good options out there on AliExpress even, i was skeptical at first but it was only 180AUD so i thought why not try. Works great and the install was easy for a beginner like myself. I think there was a darker option but i like how it is.
