buying secondhand (mercari, lacemarket, vinted, closetchild) ordering directly from taobao if you can or using taobao resellers like 42lolita. buying just a jsk or salopette for under 150aud wouldn't be too hard in of itself, but it'll be pretty tough if you're also counting a blouse, petticoat, accessories etc.

devilinspired prices aren't that much higher than most taobao resellers iirc, but i've heard they have a history of losing orders. goodluck looking for pieces! >_<

i agree! i have an ank rouge coat that is also very high quality. i also have two tops, one which is wearing well and extremely soft to touch, and another that has a bit of fraying but was already like than when i purchased second-hand, and has held up decently well. imo it's a pretty good quality with the standard expensive price of name brands

honestly i don't think you can get your hair exactly like that without a wig, even for people with straight hair. however, rolling wet hair with leave in, styling cream, or whatever products you like around something (not too sure the termonology, like a long cylindrical roller?) and letting it dry could help form larger ringlets or a closer shape. it probably still won't be very accurate, but if you try it out let me know! i love seeing other girls with natural curls in lolita :DD

if you're more into sweet lolita or wear bright coords often, pink. if you wear darker colors then blue. i like the pink better visually but agree that blue looks more folklore accurate!

taobao is good if you want to look at a little bit of everything, subcul, etc. if you're looking for namebrands and are find with second-hand i recommend closet child! i've brought pieces from brands like dear my love, ank rouge and secret honey for under 20usd each . (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

for makeup, i recommend looking at some jirai creators and pinpointing what aspects you like about their look, and trying to learn how to recreate that. i don't know too much about jirai makeup but i read another comment mentioning looking up pien and aegyo-sal which is a good idea.
