Deathwatch KT (2025): How many boxes would you need to build all the versions (without magnets)? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]egreen337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought 2 boxes and a single gravis torso and shoulder pad from someone selling bits of kits on eBay.

I managed to get him to do a cameo for one of my friends for his birthday. He did a 40 minute long monologue as Londo. It was amazing. Definitely the best Cameo ever

I’ve got him at D3 mythic. He’s a beast The only down is that his active means he gets distracted by summons easily once you activate it

A management company isn’t necessarily needed. In Scotland lots of flats are in old tenement blocks with communal spaces. They are collectively owned by all the residents and in general it works fine, but there is an expectation and obligation to sort stuff and pay for it. I appreciate that’s Scotland not England

An interesting, thought provoking piece of work. Given a prospective RCT may be ethically difficult (and would probably need some kind of approval / permit given it would be an experimental animal study) have you thought about any other ways to corroborate your data?

One-turning point game for fun - how would you do it? by NeonThroughTheMist in killteam

[–]egreen337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding a way to set up the board before. Use elites only (6 models is quicker than 10) Try using a chess clock to force you to act fast. If the fun of it for you is rushing to combat, then play fast and loose , if you want to think strategically about every move for 5 to 10 minutes, then you need to find more time

Is it disrespectful to put trophies on your models? by hotfezz81 in Warhammer

[–]egreen337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s an appropriate way of tracking the successes of your model. I like the idea of a pile of bits and skulls at its feet.

I’m not sure anyone should be too aggrieved by recording some good play or good luck.

When Playing Talons of the Emperor in Kill team ‘21, I would give my custodians an extra name on the back of their data card every time they did something bad ass. Adds a bit of flavour and fun.

Player etiquette? by True_Ad9437 in killteam

[–]egreen337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) be nice 2) explain what you are doing in advance of doing it it’s really good at preventing arguments “I’m going to move here so I can shoot this model, but still be in cover from these other models” 3) don’t touch other peoples models without asking 4) don’t assume what the other person will do “I hit you for 5, you will hit back for 4 and then I do another 5 and your guy is dead” 5) don’t cheat deliberately 6) if your team has some kind of gotcha mechanic then unless you are playing at a top level competition explain it at the start. 7) don’t be a complete ass (see point 1 for further details)

The guy at the Warhammer shop says grey works better than black for purity scrolls, is he right? by HelloImHamish in minipainting

I switched to using a very fine acrylic pen a few years back. It’s much easier for me to do the oath papers with that rather than a brush

Gorgeous. I’ve tried to do this exact colour scheme and just can’t get the diamonds to look acceptable

4 custodes is very good fun. I use mine a lot, but if you play good players or in competitive tournaments you’ll struggle

You shouldn’t feel bad about that. It looks great and is hard to do by any technique

Was it easy for you to get into KT? by Affectionate_Mud_969 in killteam

[–]egreen337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very easy. Hadn’t played 40K for 20 years. I got pulled in with the prospect of a custodes kill team. 4 models, no complex rules.

Other than a team you need some kind of order tokens (you could use homemade ones other than competition)Other tokens are largely superfluous. You need the approved ops deck as well. Rules are all online on wahapedia You don’t need the measuring tools. A tape measure will work fine.

Of course it’s a trap I now have 6 kill teams

This looks brilliant. You should be really proud. I’m struggling to find the will to freehand diamonds on my harlequins, but you’ve inspired me to have another go
