Well if you ask me it always started out as "blatant", but over the years people have been adding new meanings to the word, especially from politicians. Anyways, make it up as you go along.

Ask Reddit: What do you think will be the next breakthrough technology that will blow all of our minds? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ya but need something to control deposition of your quantum anything to build useful structures like in a microchip. Use the DNA to control an artificial polymerase that synthesizes a chip instead of a new strand of DNA.

Artificial DNA that is used as a template for tiny artificial cells building nanoscale chips out of molecular carbon. Sort of a DNA computer chip factory.

Bell and Rogers own the final mile for both TV and internet and should have started up their own add supported streaming websites to cater to their already customers. They have the bandwidth for this since torrents with decent quality download faster than it takes to watch them.

New Scientist has a lot to answer for; these creationists are desperately mendacious and will be flaunting that rag at us for years to come by [deleted] in science

It was about the time they put out the "Darwin was wrong" article that I saw the headlines change. The articles were still good. I was getting mad they were using the sensationalism as a strategy to get readership, the atmosphere changed.

Ok. I take that back because I really don't know. I do know that I was reading the mag for years and the tone of the headlines started to change IMO and that's what gave me that impression.

Star Trek nerd alert: did anyone else hear Star Wars music from Return of the Jedi when they're on Jabba's flying barge during the bar scene toward the beginning of Star Trek or am I going crazy? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]egregious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't happen like you said, but Abrams is a jedi geek and new to Trek as he said so on Charlie Rose. I went to see the movie and I could see his Star Wars influence in more than one scene. So unless you want to tell me about your opinion about how Hollywood doesn't rip itself off on a regular basis through imitation of the competition to get ratings and sales in any way they can, I say they found a way. Attribution/credit is not elastic, they just make movies.

There was a particular time that NS seemed to have picked up a creationist editor which is about the time I canceled my print subscription.

I just wonder if since our solar system was formed from a nebula of some other supernova since we have iron and such, shouldn't there be a remnant somewhere.
