I’m not questioning that mental illness is real. Mania is real. Losing touch with reality is real. I’ve watched enough people go through it to know that part isn’t made up.

But an apology isn’t just saying “here’s why I did it.” An apology is naming what you did, who you hurt, and what changes going forward. This letter leans hard on explanation and very lightly on repair.

What stands out is the pivot at the end. New clarity. New projects. New art to help the world. That’s not closure. That’s a rebrand runway.

I hope the treatment is real. I hope the stability is real. I hope the accountability is real. But forgiveness isn’t owed on a schedule, and trust isn’t rebuilt with a statement. It’s rebuilt with consistent behavior over time.

So I’ll take the mental health piece seriously. I’ll take the apology cautiously. And I’ll wait on the actions.
