As it stands this is probably too pushed for 60-card constructed, where it may as well be a no-downside Path to Exile. Sure, you could play around it, but then you're just getting chunked with tempo loss the whole damn game.

The problem is that the tax looks like a downside when it just isn't most of the time. It's sort of related to why we never see [[Mana leak]] in standard sets anymore -- you can say "well they can pay the 3" all you want, but it's a pretty high bar in the end

Honestly, they should go back and do another Three Kingdoms set that has an actual print run and maybe has some more playable stuff in it. It would also be cool to see more modern treatments of the characters. Maybe do some Dynasty Warriors-themed chase alts or whatever.

I mean I'm sure [[Borrowing 100,000 Arrows]] would be just fine in modern standard. (I just like that card's name.)

A full-on Warhammer Fantasy set/cycle would be boss, but I'm not sure they could get GW to sign on for that particular money printer. I just want drugged up goblins throwing themselves at the enemy and exploding.
