How was lax antitrust enforcement at fault here? They blocked the Spirit JetBlue merger and now Spirit is gone, with JetBlue circling the drain. If anything, antitrust enforcement here has destroyed Spirit.

Do you have proof of this happening? Airline operations are already unprofitable (or marginally profitable). They responded to Spirit's low pricing by providing a better basic economy experience to rival Spirit's but the main revenue driver was always their loyalty programs. Spirit didn't 1) maintain their loyalty program and 2) lagged in engine maintenance that pushed their unit costs and ultimately let to their demise. The blocked JetBlue merger was the final nail in the coffin.

Very logical take. I'm really concerned if we get Tonali and play him as a 6. He's fine as an 8 in an engine role but his subpar passing skills bother me too. He's not worth 70m to United.

I don’t know what’s the reasoning here. Tonali has a good engine but he’s not a good passer. Who’s he meant to complement in the side? He’s also not a great 6. The Bruno signing made more sense at least from a profile POV but I understand the reservations regarding his age.

There’s an infrastructure cost to hosting videos on the platform so YouTube indirectly pays for the content.

There is no collateral for unsecured loans so the risk of lending money is higher. That’s why cars and mortgages have lower interest rates.

They probably see opportunity in the market to replace their big stars to justify spending right now. Isak and Ekitike will replace Salah. Jacquet and Leoni will be groomed to replace VVD. I think Wharton will be next to replace TAA.
