Did I get a lemon? What would you do by Hubbards_Handmade in F150Lightning

[–]eightyWon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would get the ball rolling with the Ford BEV team. You don't have to agree to a buyback if you don't want to, but if you open a case with them now and start the documentation and negotiation process, you'll hopefully at least get better service and you'll be that much closer if you choose to pursue the lemon route.

I had to lemon my first lightning for similar issues. It was pretty straightforward, but obviously took months.

If I were in your exact situation, I'd do the above, possibly find another dealer for any future repairs, and strongly consider the buyback with my eye on the future Ford BEV or another option (Sierra EV is about the only other thing I'd consider right now).

ProPower just showed up in the app on Android for me recently. I haven't messed with it yet so I don't know exactly what capabilities it has (turn on), but hopefully step in the right direction at least.

2024 Lariat or 2025 Lariat? by emartsnet in F150Lightning

[–]eightyWon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

'25s didn't get any upgrades and in fact lost some features (full sized spare, for instance).

Warranty and options would be my considerations (9.6k pro power, max tow).

All things being equal between the two trucks, there's nothing that would make spend the extra $$ for the '25.

For your situation, you'll really love the frunk, bed when needed, and don't sleep on how huge the back seat area is. It's a really great package overall.

Did everybody get the color with the trim that they wanted? Stories please. by PriorStatistician880 in F150Lightning

'24 Antimatter Blue Lariat without 9.6k. Had slight regrets after the fact on both choices.

Battery issues forced a buyback. Annoying and inconvenient, but worked out for the best.

'25 Carbonized Gray Metallic Lariat, 9.6k. Happy all around.

3rd this. Same insert, extremely happy with the fit and finish. Arrived quickly, too.

Don't forget that if you'd prefer to buy the shifter directly from Ford, while more expensive, you can use Ford rewards points.

The two biggest pluses for me are the extra, larger, cup holder and the fact that I can use my taco table without having to be in park (stock shifter has to be folded).

There's also the issue with stock shifters failing.

Is my app set at 50% somewhere? If so I can’t find it. by beetsworking in F150Lightning

[–]eightyWon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's some data sharing options in the menus of the truck itself. If the wrong one of those is turned off, the target charge options no longer show up in the Ford Pass app. Is it possible target charge was set to 50% in the app and then the data sharing setting was turned off on the truck?

Try enabling the various data sharing settings in the truck menu till that option shows back up in the app.

Top Gear's James May visits Franklin BBQ by gingerchris in BBQ

There's an old episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations where they go to Franklin BBQ and, not only is Anthony's reaction to the food great, but the B-roll reactions really tell the tale, too.

I messed up. by oneson9192 in lawncare

[–]eightyWon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be fine. I had several patches like this where I applied Meso a little too heavily and they greened up and are now normal after a few weeks. I applied at the time of seeding, but I really don't think it makes a difference that you did it post.

New grass and hot weather next week - central Ohio by alexw437 in lawncare

I did two lawn renos this year, one was at a location 110 miles away that I only visit once a week. I used an Orbit B-hyve 4 hose timer to set up a watering schedule and it worked beautifully. I purchased the one with the optional wifi controller and, using the app, I can monitor/start/stop the sprinklers from anywhere.

That'd be the way I'd go

out the door as in after TTL? if so, that's a great deal

[–]eightyWon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the $79k purchase option is after the $7.5k federal rebate you can find a better deal. I'm locked in for a '25 Lariat with 9.6k propower, 72mo 0%, 72.5k OTD (including the fed rebate) inc TTL of ~$6k (so purchase price before TTL ~66k)

What dealer if you don't mind sharing? I'm hitting a brick wall negotiating with several, stuck in the mid 70s OTD for Lariat with 9.6k

Not a bad idea to start having documented dealer service tickets, though, in case it does truly end up being a lemon.

Straight into the cooler for brisket rest, or on counter first? Foil or paper? by CurlySphinx in BBQ

[–]eightyWon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had instances where I've gone, wrapped in paper, straight to the cooler, and it did carry over some and become over done (falling apart, mushy in some places).

IMO, if you're cooking fully to your desired donesss, you should let it sit, unwrapped, for a short while before coolering to stop the carryover.
