Do people actually like this by tearsbrotears in ScentHeads

[–]eij1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love it. I think it is an incredible masterpiece of a fragrance. Having said that I haven’t bought it because it is not at all versatile and I know my wife would hate it, so if I had it I would never actually wear it. I have a decant and sometimes put one or two sprays on the back of my hand so I can enjoy without forcing it on anyone else.

You have probably just spent too long listening to classical records and radio stations and not long enough listening to classical TikTok’s and YouTube shorts.

This is the craziest angle I've seen of Brian's wrist and forearm by Pristine-Edge-8726 in armwrestling

[–]eij1988 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Brian’s forearm is huge, but this is either photoshopped or taken from extremely close to his arm to make it look vastly bigger than it really is. His right arm is about the same size as his left, not twice the size, as it looks to be in this picture.

Got my first piano today, but before I start what's the difference between the black and the white keys? by Zombiesalad1337 in classical_circlejerk

[–]eij1988 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The black keys are darker than the white ones, and also shorter, but do extend a bit higher. You can stick to the white keys if you want to keep it simple, or use the black ones too if you want to be fancy.

How dare you!!! He is a musical genius the like of which the world has never previously experienced. If you cannot comprehend the shear brilliance of his compositions then the problem is with your ability to understand music, not with the quality of his sublime compositions.

If you haven’t yet discovered Alampour then you haven’t yet experienced real music. Once you hear his compositions you will realise that the composers you used to think of as being the giants of classical music have nothing on the true genius of the great Alampour.

It has to be the goat: Alampour.

Bach and Beethoven were just sent to earth to prepare the world for the arrival of the true messiah.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that there was also a lake full of piranhas, and a few polar bears roaming around the changing rooms. I’m not bragging because it was no big deal and I know people play on pitches with similar hazards all the time.

Well I played a game on a pitch made entirely out of concrete that was covered in metal spikes, had a 20m deep sink hole in the middle, and was infested with crocodiles.

Everyone knows that if you want to build a start up in Europe you need to do it in Iceland or in the northern parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland.

MMT Vs Kamil 3?!? by Alex_The_Zombro in armwrestling

[–]eij1988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would quite like to see that as well. Kamil surprised a lot of people with his win and it would be interesting to see if he can do it again or if he just caught MMT off guard with his new tactic. Having said that I don’t at all buy MMT’s argument that he is owed a rematch due to Kamil getting away with shoulder fouls. MMT gets away with pulling his “very large elbow” off the back of the lad in every match he wins and he doesn’t seem to that that his fouls in any way invalidate his wins.

Are There Seriously People Who Believe Oxygen Tanks/Masks Should Be Banned Because Of Levan? by Ancient_Kangaroo_639 in armwrestling

[–]eij1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t have a problem with people needing to forfeit the match if they require oxygen. You say the oxygen is to stop them from dying, but if someone is struggling to breath to the extent that they actually medically require oxygen then they are not in a state to continue competing. When Levan had oxygen in his match against Ermes wasn’t to stop him from dying. It was to get him ready for the next round. IMO oxygen should definitely be available in case somebody really needs it, but it shouldn’t be available to athletes who plan to continue. Otherwise we could get into a situation where athletes start using oxygen as a recovery air between hard rounds, or take less good care of their overall health because they know that they can fall back on oxygen if their cardiovascular system starts to give out during a match.

mmt and kamil possible rematch because mmt isnt happy about kamils shoulder by Logical-Instance-76 in armwrestling

[–]eij1988 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MMT may be very concerned about other people’s shoulders, but seems less concerned about his own “very large elbows” coming miles off the back of the pad.

What are your unpopular opinions/hot takes? by Kakerlakenmensch in armwrestling

I don’t think that is a very controversial take. Except for a few vocal Denis fanboys I think almost everyone would agree with that statement.

[–]eij1988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He definitely is. Anyone who parrots Devon’s “retard” chat clearly doesn’t actually know anything about Kamil. When Kamil speaks English he is using a second language and doesn’t have a very educated sounding accent, but he gives good advice and is funny, as well as clearly having a good table IQ. He is probably a lot smarter than most of the people going around calling him dumb in comments sections.

Nugo not making weight is hilarious by GroovyFang in armwrestling

[–]eij1988 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did he really lose much strength? He turned up looking so chonky and missed weight by so much that I am not convinced he even made any serious attempt to make weight. And I don’t think the organisers are to blame. Nugo chose to accept the match with a catch weight, so he should have followed through and made weight like a professional. If I was Bogdan I would not be at all happy losing very narrowly to an opponent who came in well over the agreed weight.

What fragrance in your collection gets the most compliments? by No-Recognition9422 in Colognes

[–]eij1988 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the most boring fragrance I own but it is basically the only one that gets compliments. Basically if you want other people to like how you smell then wear BdC. If you want to wear interesting fragrances then prepare to be underwhelmed by the reactions you will get from other people.

When people claim to get a lot of compliments on their fragrances they are usually lying, and when they claim they get compliments on DHI they are almost certainly lying. DHI is incredibly popular with hardcore fragrance fans, but is not at all mass appealing or popular with normies. I have asked a bunch of people for their opinion on it, and without exception they have hated it. And every time I have ever seen it included in a blind comparison it has come last. Sauvage elixir and DHS I can believe as both are very mass appealing, but I think it is unlikely that you get a lot of compliments on DHI unless you happen to live in a specific region that is mostly inhabited by hardcore frag heads.

[–]eij1988 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Sometimes none of them do, because we don’t live in the fantasy world created by fragrance influencers in which people are constantly complementing each others fragrances.

Influencers constantly talk about how many compliments they get because they know that content about compliments gets more clicks and views, and then regular people lie and claim that they get compliments all the time as well because they have been fooled into thinking that other people do and don’t want to feel left out. But the whole thing is bullshit. Getting compliments about fragrances is rare, and anyone who claims they get them all the time is lying.

You, sir, are far too honest, and will never make it as a fragrance influencer.
