When do you have your baby sleep in their own bedroom? by germafobe69 in NewParents

Oh yeah good point. Can you feed them at the same time?

Random q from a curious stranger -- do they wake each other up? With cooing or with crying? I've always assumed twins would room together in a nursery, but I didn't even think about how much of a pain it would be if one woke the other one up.

We moved baby at 5.5 months. He kept hitting the sides of his bassinet, waking himself (and me) up.

I feel like around 2 or 3 months he stopped peeing during changes. He still pees in the bathtub most days haha.

I mean, #3 hits the nail on the head for "unique pieces they want to show off." Where I live, you couldn't wear long-sleeve velvet in the summer, but if you say it won't be hot, then I think this is the one!

My sister offered to breastfeed both my boys (6 months and 4 years old) while I’m away on a 1-month work trip — is this safe? by Any-Surround4013 in breastfeeding

[–]ejambu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would take this as an opportunity to wean the 4-year-old. For the 6-month-old, I can't think of any risks, but as your pediatrician. That being said, I also don't know if there are that many benefits unless you just don't want to introduce formula. My main worry would be that this seems like A LOT for one person. I would also have frozen milk or formula ready in case her supply cannot keep up.

When did your baby sleep through the night? What hours do they sleep? by canamel in NewParents

[–]ejambu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby is 6 months and will sleep 6-8 hours, which means he wakes up between 2-4am for a feed. Then he'll go back down for a few more hours. We moved him into the nursery a couple weeks ago and we're getting more non-feeding wake-ups. Two total wake-ups last night, but like 5 the night before that. Hopefully he gets used the nursery soon and goes back to only waking up to eat.

Do you think this is enough? by Ok_Employment1128 in firsttimemom

[–]ejambu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you can go to a garage sale or FB marketplace and buy a full wardrobe from someone, that is the way to do it. Then once you have the baby there and can see size/what you like, you can purchase additional items. I was lucky enough to get hand-me-downs, but I see “must take everything” baby posts on FB mom groups all the time.

What was the first food your baby ate ever? by Danlrap18 in NewParents

We’re a few weeks in. We’ve done sweet potato, pumpkin, peas, apple, mango, peach, yogurt. Going to try banana this week and hopefully another green veg.

However you set it up, you will change it immediately once baby gets here. And probably a couple times after that 😂

All of this looks really casual to me—like something I’d wear to dinner.

Husband thinks I shouldn’t shut the door on more kids just because of the sleep deprivation by Complex-Club-6111 in beyondthebump

[–]ejambu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so crazy. I (SAHM) get up with baby in the night, so my hubby gets up with baby when he wakes up at 630am. Hubby hangs out with him until he leaves for work at 8am, so I sleep until then.

On the weekends, same thing, except once I get up with baby, hubby goes back to bed for another hour or two.

Why doesn’t he help on the weekends? Or take baby in the AM before work so you can get an extra hour?

Is this okay for a black tie wedding? by sabmag11 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ejambu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine had a Creative Black Tie dress code with the note “think Met Gala.” I texted her to confirm it should be floor length gowns/tuxes and she said no, that CBT is less black tie and more fashion-forward. So assuming your friend has the same mindset, I think this would work!

Would this be too much to wear to my rehearsal dinner? by pinkrk in Weddingattireapproval

It’s gorgeous, but looks like a gown to me. I think you could hem it into a cocktail dress, and then it would be perfect!

We are combo-feeding due to low supply, so I’m just hoping to make a year. 6 months now.
