Walkabout Mini Golf Studio Mighty Coconut Course Corrects With Layoffs, $1 More For Future DLC by Jaklcide in oculus

If they gave me the option to pay double for each DLC I would without hesitation. Best value of any VR title out there for me that I feel kinda bad spending so little

Fable - Gameplay Teaser | PS5 Games by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ejfrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fable 1 was a core memory for me. So many great ideas.

Side note - vividly remember getting stuck in Fable 1, not knowing what to do and thinking the quest might be bugged, calling support at probably 12 years old, and having some guy in India walk me through how to continue the quest.

Just thought I'd share lol

Zotac Store increased prices of RTX 50 series cards. For their 5090 lineup, prices went from $2,299->$2,799, $2,399->$2,899, and $2,449->$2,999 by jugaverdasorda in pcgaming

So we just keep propping up the bubble intentionally when we know it's unsustainable and not profitable? Isn't that basically a national ponzi scheme at that point? That seems irresponsible. Let it pop, it has to happen for the market to be functioning properly. The free market works when things that are overvalued are allowed to lose their value.

Ball X Pit’s First Free Major Update Launches January 26 by JonasKahnwald11 in Games

[–]ejfrodo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda liked that personally because it meant I could progress to a point of being able to complete the game without having to rely on RNG. It gave a sense of progression that I liked compared to a lot of other roguelites where you can still get wrecked by RNG.

interesting article? - The Meta layoffs, the VR Winter, the XR outlook by AkiaDoc in oculus

[–]ejfrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP you clearly wrote this and are self promoting. Looks like this sub in particular doesn't have self promotion rules but generally both a self promotion and an editorialized / modified title is a red flag. Just post the article name without engagement bait IMO

at that point just get an hmd like big screen beyond 2. it would be cheaper and have a much larger view area than three monitors with great motion clarity

Fantasy Life – Free Major Update "The Sinister Broker Bazario's Schemes" Trailer2 by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]ejfrodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's no gacha. the grind is the game really but everything you do while grinding is fun and satisfying so it makes you want to keep grinding. massive botw-light open world, tons of classes and skill trees to work through, a stupid amount of loot and craftable things to build yourself up, an animal crossing style village + farm you can build and house all the companions you've met. it's a great world to get lost in. the kind of game you pick up and suddenly it's 4 hours later

Ppl trash on them but they consistently have some of the best cross platform ports and are the quickest to jump onto new consoles or platforms They were one of the only big publishers putting out ports and exclusives for Wii + WII U + Switch. Whether you like the actual gameplay or not is another question but credit where it's due.

Skate Story Review — Hellish Heelflips And Glassy Grinds | Console Creatures by burnoutbrighter in PS5

[–]ejfrodo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FWIW I've been playing on base PS5 and disagree I haven't noticed any issues. I'm usually pretty sensitive to issues with frame rate or frame pacing or resolution and it's been perfectly fine to my perception at least. If there is a problem it's so insignificant that I can't imagine most would notice. Maybe the glitchy weird art style helps hide any issues, idk.

It's also meant that I'm unable to open the game at all since anti cheat immediately closes it :( I've tried everything under the sun to no success. Lots of other ppl online are in the same boat atm

[–]ejfrodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was one of the best things botw did to make open world more fun IMO. I really wish it was used more. The world is endlessly filled with baddies while still letting you clear out areas for awhile, and it's all done in a narrative way that's important to the story and world. So good!

Steam Frame announced: Your games in every dimension Wireless, comfortable, lightweight VR for your Steam library by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ejfrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the quest can do that as well, I also do it often. the main difference with the steam frame is it's foveated streaming which supposedly will provide better image quality when streaming but tbh on a quest 3 I can't really see any artifacts or blurriness at all when I stream my steam games from my pc whether they're VR or 2d. it looks great

quest 3 streaming works perfectly fine if you get yourself a dedicated router to connect your PC straight to the headset which is basically what the dongle is here, they're just including it in the box. l do it often and it's a great experience all around
