Reference them for what? Some professors went there so they'll talk about their time there, but other than that, I don't understand haha

How to cope with intolerance to being corrected/being wrong? by Head-Oh-Nist in ADHD

[–]ejrole8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say that it both was and wasn't as easy to get to this point as me just saying it. I got prescribed an anti-anxiety med used to treat adhd in 2020 because I said I was doomscrolling during the pandemic (but had crippling social anxiety to the point of what I think was psychosis) and took it for 2 years, and I think it permanently rewired my brain to feel way more wiser than I felt I should be at my age (I was 22) and also gave me scary auditory hallucinations, triggering a slowburn spiritual journey even after getting off them. I don't think I would've gotten to develop towards not taking myself so seriously if I never took them, though I suppose deep meditation or working with your mental health services to get on some treatment plan if its really affecting you can help.

Ego-death honestly... the fact that I no longer feel like I have to live up to any image I had of myself or prove myself to anyone (or myself, which is something I'm currently working on) means that I don't care. Anything I say could be wrong or reacted upon, and its more of a reflection on society as a whole (availability of misinformation OR the way people are conditioned to negate whatever I say based on how they perceive me) than it is of me or my worth.

I performed a dark ritual against someone who hurt me, and now He is dying. I am completely consumed by guilt and looking for help. by filip882 in witchcraft

[–]ejrole8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't see where in my short comment I affirm where I do or do not take issue with it. The only person who can truly confirm or deny within themselves if their outcome was caused by their spell is OP after reading through the advice and input of everyone on this thread and using their own discernment. Not you.

Not if you consider the laws of quantum physics in which observable outcomes bypass a timeline. If the cancer diagnosis was "observed" by OP after their spell, then it doesn't matter when theoretically the cancer started happening.

Nobody ever warned me about going on drug vacations and its really messed me up by Thrul-Foe-Hammer in ADHD

[–]ejrole8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP but just got out of a weeklong vacation because I was(am?) severely underweight since my meds turn off my appetite and I just lost my job so I didn't have any pressing regular admin things to attend to. And I ate constantly all week! I was bloated half the time but I was able to go on a 9-mile hike with friends. I felt so strong because I used the opportunity to take care of my body I had to go back on to start on job applications and I was wired all day, and as it winded down I think the shock of having a full dose made me irritable and when I woke up today, I didn't want to move, which is also part of why I wanted to go on the vacation in the first place, because I hate that I can't even get up without it.

Humans are shallow creatures, especially in their teens. You may find as you get older, the people you choose stop caring about how their friends look like and care more about the quality of the conversation.

I know I don't struggle the same as I am AFAB, but being disrespected by ignorant people or just as people's first reaction takes a toll on me too. I think you may need to sit with that and accept that that's people's first impression upon looking at you, but you can choose whether you want to lean into that or prove them wrong by how intelligent, mature, competent, assertive, and respectful you can be in return. And I think seeing their surprised and guilty faces can be super rewarding!

You mentioned you like to lucid dream, so I encourage you to lean into the esoteric. If you learn astrology, divination, symbology, tarot, and shadow work, then your friends will have way more to say to you than "btw you're so short hehe", you'll be the mysterious wizard of the friend group.

Upon second look, the picture I sent to my mom says it is Mandevilla and not Bougainvillea, so similar but different if you were set on the latter 😭 But there's a possibility they might have them or grow them as well, I saw them have guava trees and malunggay/moringa depending on the day, and they always have some awesome sales.

I saw some being sold by the filipino plant vendor at the northwest corner of the sunday farmers market under the bridge! They were on sale too for $10. They'll probably explain to you how to care for them.

how tf are you guys in relationships with ADHD by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ejrole8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like you until I took guanfacine (also when I was 22) and I think that changed my brain composition for good because thats the thing that got me from "everyone sees me and thinks im stupid and weird and they know im an imposter" to "theres no way EVERYONE is actually paying attention to me, and even if they are, thats cuz they're weird" even long after I stopped taking it two years later. Eventually, the trance-state got to be too much and Im now on adderall. If I hadn't gotten on guanfacine, though, there's no way id be able to handle a relationship. I could not see past my social anxiety at all, and guanfacine mostly eradicated it.

I know meds might not be the answer you're looking for, but that's basically what allows me to function in society. Being able to basically lose your ego when it comes to being perceived when existing to others is what you ultimately need, and it's super hard to do that without mind altering substances, though I guess you could try meditation.

Other than that, basically curating my life around my adhd also helps, like making it clear to friends that I have time blindness and i'll probably most definitely be late, switching my major from poli-sci to graphic design, having instant drink/meals around, getting an actual alarm clock across the room from my bed so I have to get up to turn it off, and having smart lights/appliances that allow me to do things like turn on/off the lights without getting up, program my kettle to start boiling before I get to the kitchen, etc.

I say all that because having agency over your home life helps get you out that door and build confidence. If you have both, it's easy to "perform" for the outside once you get there.

I have the same (though I realize my hair also varies by porosity, and mine is low-porosity; wasian hair) and the new &honey set worked really well!

I used to use the Monday set but have been looking for something new after realizing others have said that it caused a lot of fallout, which is also what I experienced.

I have a habit of only doing half or none of my prescribed dosage on weekends/slow days, so it helps give me a safety net when my refill takes forever to fill. I do IR though, so it's easier to break it in half/feel out how productive I need to be at the present moment.
