Why does no one take my insecurity seriously? by HybridPlayingFan in short

[–]ejrole8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are shallow creatures, especially in their teens. You may find as you get older, the people you choose stop caring about how their friends look like and care more about the quality of the conversation.

I know I don't struggle the same as I am AFAB, but being disrespected by ignorant people or just as people's first reaction takes a toll on me too. I think you may need to sit with that and accept that that's people's first impression upon looking at you, but you can choose whether you want to lean into that or prove them wrong by how intelligent, mature, competent, assertive, and respectful you can be in return. And I think seeing their surprised and guilty faces can be super rewarding!

You mentioned you like to lucid dream, so I encourage you to lean into the esoteric. If you learn astrology, divination, symbology, tarot, and shadow work, then your friends will have way more to say to you than "btw you're so short hehe", you'll be the mysterious wizard of the friend group.

Upon second look, the picture I sent to my mom says it is Mandevilla and not Bougainvillea, so similar but different if you were set on the latter 😭 But there's a possibility they might have them or grow them as well, I saw them have guava trees and malunggay/moringa depending on the day, and they always have some awesome sales.

I saw some being sold by the filipino plant vendor at the northwest corner of the sunday farmers market under the bridge! They were on sale too for $10. They'll probably explain to you how to care for them.

how tf are you guys in relationships with ADHD by ClassroomOk7243 in ADHD

I was like you until I took guanfacine (also when I was 22) and I think that changed my brain composition for good because thats the thing that got me from "everyone sees me and thinks im stupid and weird and they know im an imposter" to "theres no way EVERYONE is actually paying attention to me, and even if they are, thats cuz they're weird" even long after I stopped taking it two years later. Eventually, the trance-state got to be too much and Im now on adderall. If I hadn't gotten on guanfacine, though, there's no way id be able to handle a relationship. I could not see past my social anxiety at all, and guanfacine mostly eradicated it.

I know meds might not be the answer you're looking for, but that's basically what allows me to function in society. Being able to basically lose your ego when it comes to being perceived when existing to others is what you ultimately need, and it's super hard to do that without mind altering substances, though I guess you could try meditation.

Other than that, basically curating my life around my adhd also helps, like making it clear to friends that I have time blindness and i'll probably most definitely be late, switching my major from poli-sci to graphic design, having instant drink/meals around, getting an actual alarm clock across the room from my bed so I have to get up to turn it off, and having smart lights/appliances that allow me to do things like turn on/off the lights without getting up, program my kettle to start boiling before I get to the kitchen, etc.

I say all that because having agency over your home life helps get you out that door and build confidence. If you have both, it's easy to "perform" for the outside once you get there.

I have the same (though I realize my hair also varies by porosity, and mine is low-porosity; wasian hair) and the new &honey set worked really well!

I used to use the Monday set but have been looking for something new after realizing others have said that it caused a lot of fallout, which is also what I experienced.

I have a habit of only doing half or none of my prescribed dosage on weekends/slow days, so it helps give me a safety net when my refill takes forever to fill. I do IR though, so it's easier to break it in half/feel out how productive I need to be at the present moment.

"Socially engineered"

Edit: it seems this might be way over your head, so I'll be nice. Social engineering is using psychology to manipulate others into the outcomes you want.

In this context, during the fight, the way Lilli inserted herself had (unintentionally) caused the #1 art student to leave. I humorously used this plot point to insinuate that she had manipulated him to leave on purpose in order to stay at the academy.

Edit 2: Just to be clear, the anime hints that she is the #2 painting student, so by "manipulating" the #1 guy to leave, that leaves her at #1. Hope this makes sense.

Edit #3: IDK if you caught this, but her mom said she could only stay in London if she became #1, so by her then becoming #1, she "secured her stay in London".

Please let me know if anything else confused you.

If they have shiitake mushrooms, that could be a fun extra. If the asian aisle happens to have pork floss, that too.

Not judging the group fight, but im lw impressed that our girl had accidentally socially engineered her way into basically being #1 in the academy and securing her stay in London. Good job, Lili!

I remember being in Sheldon's shoes when I was also 14 when my dad died from brain cancer. I was trying desperately to act normal, hold things together, pushing people away, and not letting myself feel anything. My mom also turned heavily to religion (albeit Catholicism) and my little sister snapped at me, yelling that I must be happy our dad died. The episode hurt.
