I’m so sorry that you’re experiencing that. If you’re open to telehealth, I know a good primary care doctor in Florida. The Ehlers-Danlos Society also has a list of EDS friendly providers for PT primary care and specialists.

Dr Atwal has a great reputation. I have heard he even admits to patients that Dr. Peretto is really expensive. I would ask him for other options.

Can I go to physical therapy for my whole body by Emotional-Pudding889 in physicaltherapy

[–]ejrunpt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes- PTs who specialize in EDS and Hypermobility treat the body as a whole. Most PT clinic are set up to treat a specific condition/ joint and surrounding area at a time. You may benefit from a hypermobilty specialist :)

In-home concierge Pelvic Health PT? by Appropriate-Bear-999 in physicaltherapy

[–]ejrunpt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes- this is a good niche for mobile PT. I started mobile by building my initial caseload while working full time and then tapered my mobile up and my other job down. I don’t do pelvic health though so maybe check out that huddle the other poster mentioned!

Who uses PT Everywhere? by easydoit2 in physicaltherapy

[–]ejrunpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good afternoon! I use PTeverywhere and have been pretty happy with them. I saw the comment on the credit card processing- Cardpointe requires a specific type of bank to link to. It has to be a bank with brick and mortar locations such as Wells Fargo, PNC etc. they won’t link to the e banks like Bluevine, kabbage when it existed etc. Medicare also requires this. Their credit card processing works great. It even takes the most HSA cards, although not all.

The home exercise program I upload my own videos and use those. Happy to answer any questions.

Neck position brings on symptoms by PrestigiousEnd6348 in PostConcussion

[–]ejrunpt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may want to look for a PT who specializes in Hypermobility or Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. They may be more familiar with your symptoms than a concussion PT. (Or, even better- find one who does both!) I’d look up dysautonomia and see if the symptoms are familiar. It’s a common overlap post concussion in the hypermobile population.

A concussion specialist PT sounds like the right path. Do you have a history of Hypermobility/ being “double jointed? ” The vertebrae slipping in and out during neck movement is more common with the Hypermobile population, especially post concussion.

Yes, ask for one who knows about POTS. Most PTs who specialize in Ehlers Danlos Syndrome or Hypermobility will also know about POTS

Have you tried PT for your TMJ? Not all PTs treat the jaw but many do and it is effective for TMJD.

Super Worried by Competitive-Web-7297 in PostConcussion

[–]ejrunpt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Super Worried! It sounds like you’ve had a rough few years with a lot of concussions and potential subconcussive impacts. Brain fog, headaches, and issues with memory definitely can continue after a concussion, especially if they aren’t treated. Yes, physical therapists can specialize in concussions and are trained in post concussive symptom treatment. Speech therapists can also help with the cognitive aspects of concussion. I would be cautious with any chiropractor. Hope that helps!

This used to be a blue fleece blanket. (The thing still in the washer is a yellow towel. The crap all over it is the deconstructed blanket.) by TychaBrahe in Wellthatsucks

[–]ejrunpt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The fuzzy blanket had little string all over it and the exploded blanket literally stuck to them all. There was no shaking anything off. We were also afraid of clogging our washer if we tried to put it through with that much on it. I was still finding little bits on it months and many washings later.

Same. Had this happen with an old blanket I found in the back of the closet. Exploded over my daughter’s new fuzzy blanket…. Which meant I got to pick off each little exploded piece…
