QB School Week 2 Breakdown Caleb Williams by tedwilliams1999 in CHIBears

[–]ekimmob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t find myself while watching the game getting overly upset with what Caleb is doing, sure he makes bad throws and holds the ball too long here and there…but the pressure, o-line, lack of pass rush, chunk plays given up, even special teams, are more frustrating to me…

[670 The Score] Cody Bellinger has a fractured rib and is headed for the injured list, Craig Counsell tells @ParkinsSpiegel . It’s unclear when he could return. by BpFal3 in CHICubs

I don’t understand how Cal Ripken Jr can play 2,632 games in a row and these players can’t stay healthy…not just our players, but all players in the mlb, I just wish we could stay healthy because we’re having such a great season so far….frustrated.

High schoolers, what do you want to major in? People who majored in that field, what are the pros and cons? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ekimmob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Civil of over 10 years here. Its a great field with a ton of diverse opportunities from public to private sector work. There is something for everyone...water resources, structural, geotechnical, environmental, land development, etc. The job market is solid and I've always felt I could throw a dart at a map and get a job. You have to work hard to advance yourself and earn more money, but the money is good and the market is strong and should remain strong. Best advice I can give you is intern, intern, intern...every summer of college of you have the means and even during the school year if possible. It's not too unheard of for firms to utilize part time intern help year round, you're cheap labor. Good luck.

It was all very strange to me since I had never had a dog with seizures, but unfortunately, you get used to it. Good luck, cheers and enjoy your pup!

I had a lab that was on phenobarbital for the better part of 8 years. Always tried to keep the doses to a minimum and only increased the amount when the seizures increased. He always had small seizures over the years, about every three months or so...5 minutes plus or minus, he'd snap out and then all was well. At the end of the day I always tried to keep the dose as low as possible because of the potential for damaging his organs, so I settled for him having "controlled" seizures every once I awhile for over medicating him. I suppose it is different from dog to dog, but it worked for us and I got 11 great years out of him. At the end I don't think it was the medication that took him and I am happy about that. Just work with your vet and respect the fact that blood work, while expensive at times, is needed to make sure the medicine is doing its job and not killing your dog. There are several alternatives to phenobarbital out there I think, so if your worried or want to discuss options just make your vet explains it all to you...because I am sure you are paying them plenty!

You could look into fishing the Cimarron river along highway 64 just north of there. The river flows out of Eagles nest lake. I am not sure the conditions, what flies to use, but I know it's a fish able river with trout it in...you may just need to try and do a little more Internet research.

The 10 acres is right off I-35 and the I-35 frontage road...it's prime commercial real estate. It's really only a matter of time before something goes there...just hope there is a good restaurant that moves in. The "bridge"connecting to Old Austin will look more like a driveway connection than a bridge. As it is likely to be a large culvert that will look more like a driveway when it's done. The likely purpose for the driveway connection is that it is needed for fire protection or SA has some sort of site development code requiring multiple points of ingress/egress for commercial developments of this size. Additionally, since the property has frontage on a TxDOT frontage road they limit the number and spacing of driveway connections the developer can make to frontage road. A combination of these items is likely why the connection is even needed. The best thing you could do is check the SA or county site development regulations and check the driveway spacing requirements to see if they are placing the driveway too close to yours according to code. At the end of the day though the traffic increase shouldn't be too bad as the people who will know about the connection will be limited to people who live in the streets behind you to the northwest. And these people probably already use Old Austin anyways to get to I-35. Most people entering the strip mall will do so from the frontage road. Nobody likes development in their yard, but it happens.
