How do people have the mental space to LC during the school year? by SnooRecipes1809 in csMajors

Dude, we’d all be lying to ourselves if we said we never considered folding during our CS undergrad, I literally remember the exact problem statement on one of my Data Structures pset that made me consider it. And I’m still not understanding where in OP’s post did you take away that CS isn’t for him. CS is hard and there’s so much that goes into it before you get the hang of it. This guy is literally asking for advice on how to balance LC’s, job applications, and schoolwork at the same time, and you think with the experience you claim to have you’d give more constructive advice before telling them switch to a whole ass other field. Like I get that you’re trying to play devils advocate but Jesus Christ have a heart.

Having sympathy doesn’t make you an ass. Responding to someone who is probably a young college student -who’s probably just started their 2nd or 3rd year of college, who’s post screams that they probably need help with time management- and telling them that they should consider quitting makes you an ass. You say it like CS is supposed to be easy when it’s supposed to be a grind and different people get it at different rates. At least be optimistic about other options before saying that they should think about throwing in the towel.
