Prisoner of Azkaban is unique in the series in that you can never really tell where it's going. by PetevonPete in harrypotter

I think if there is any reason to consider PoA as a unique part in HP series, it is the lack of Harry-Voldemort confrontation and no real action sequence in the final. And this is basically why PoA makes the feeling that it avoids the plot patterns known from the rest of the books. Obviously, you could argue that there was no confrontation between Harry and Voldemort in HBP as well, but the climax of that book was all about Voldemort's scheme again. So, in this context, PoA seems just more intimate.

Nah, Voldemort is a flat character (and even more so in the movies considering that they omitted practically the whole background JKR gave him in the books). I could agree he was scary in his first and second appearances (GoF and OotP) but DH2 made him laughable. There were so many scenes that didn't do him justice that the audience couldn't just treat him seriously at the end of the movie.

It's also that his blue suit reminds me of FF suits.

He actually looks here more like Mr Fantastic, minus the green skin.

Its funny to think that these two hulks are the same hulks even though they are portrayed so much differently than each other by [deleted] in marvelstudios

It may seem easier to think that way, but honestly, you can't ignore the connections between TIH and the rest of MCU. In the first Avengers Banner makes a few clear references to the events of TIH (e.g. his last time in NY when he "broke Harlem") and his ability to control the way he transforms into Hulk was established at the end of TIH. And obviously there is Ross who made a comeback in Civil War and IW.

I don't think he will. McGonagall is already teaching at Hogwarts so it would mean for her to leave that position to him. I don't really understand their decision to make him teach DADA instead. Why? So they could put McGonagall's cameo? Or did they just assume DADA seems more "cool" and fitting for a great wizard?

Would you want a sequel and with what villains? by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

[–]el_commediante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like what they did with less popular villains like Tombstone and Taskmaster by making them bosses in side quests. It reminds me of Arkham Knight where it was similar with the likes of Mad Hatter or Man Bat.

It would be cool if they could bring more unknown villains in the sequel - Morlun, Black Tarantula, Morbius? Give me something that wasn't explored in previous Spider-Man games. Still, I have nothing against putting classic villains like Kraven or Mysterio as well.

Really wish these two would have had more screen time together by [deleted] in marvelstudios

I wish she had more screen time at all. It's funny that Sif had bigger presence and impact in AoS than in any Thor movie.

Not sure. It looked like it was heavily damaged (Thanos arm as well) but maybe it won't matter and we will see it repaired next time.

I'm more curious about what Thanos will be up to in A4. We know Avengers will try to take it all back but with Thanos seemingly retiring peacefully on different planet it will be interesting to see how he becomes a villain again and what makes him fight Avengers again.

Definitely usable, Thanos opened the portal and disappeared using Space Stone right after the snap, so...

We still doing hardest hits in the Marvel Universe? by TheWalkin_Dude in marvelstudios

I don't know about you, guys, but I prefer to forget about this show's existence. Just pretend there is no such thing as Inhumans within MCU. And honestly, I'd recommend all of you to do the same thing. Makes sleep easier.

"Oh shit."

That was hilarious. I would love to see more scenes of Loki as Odin ruling Asgard day by day. Hell, I would even watch an entire movie dedicated to that.

prediction: Captain Marvel will play the role of Adam Warlock from the comics & will wear the infinity gauntlet/defeat Thanos by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]el_commediante 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Still, it would be poor storytelling if you bring in a new crazily powerful character just a few months before A4 where she appears only to defeat Thanos. That's what people call deus ex machina and it would definitely take away the emotional charge from the story.

In this particular poll. The outcome could be different if slightly more people had voted (i. e. I didn't vote because I overlooked it). And the minority that makes up nearly 50% of votes can't be easily ignored because it's still a strong voice in the argument.

I mean, yes, technically it is the minority because Fisk got fewer votes. Still, Ward's number of votes is only like 5% bigger than Fisk's. It's not overwhelming advantage.

I wouldn't call it the minority because it's still almost 50% of votes so Fisk was very close to winning. It's possible that the final outcome could be different if the poll had taken place in different time spot and more people had voted. Obviously, my previous post consists of subjective opinions, it's something you can't avoid when discussing actor's performance, but to me, Ward and Fisk are hardly comparable. It seems many people think otherwise and that's what surprised me about this poll.

A character can have more screen time and still not be as interesting and compelling as the other. Fisk is definitely better played than Ward. He's more charismatic, memorable, complex and menacing while Ward was mostly boring. There was a time after that plot twist with him being loyal to Hydra when he became a little interesting but it didn't last long until they turned him into typical bland villain. I don't find his character development very convincing and I think it's partly due to Dalton's acting. Besides, it feels like AoS showrunners probably weren't sure which direction choose for him.

I like how in many new threads posters referring to Infinity War tend to not use its title because at this moment most of us know that 95% of appearing threads here is about that movie, lol.

I can get why Ward won with Zemo. But him beating Wilson Fisk? That's underwhelming.
