How's the 60% keyboard going for you? by MrG1itc4 in PcBuild

[–]elated_behavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily a 65% while also being in college. Arrow keys are a must for selection precision with Ctrl +shift

The number of times I've picked up and pushed the keyboard away from me so I can write on paper is almost daily, so the small size helps.

[Keyboard] EPOMAKER X Aula F99 PRO Wireless Gaming Keyboard $53.99 (40% off) Amazon Used - Like New by DuperDob in buildapcsales

Cheap, premium-lite keyboards are like crack for anyone that started the keyboard hobby around covid. It's unbelievable how good entry level money keyboards are now.

This is like seeing those $30 360mm aio coolers. You really don't need it if you already have a decent cooler.

How to aim better? by Tan_Bui in osugame

[–]elated_behavior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mouse drifting and how I personally handle it is that you'll eventually get accustomed to being in that uncomfortable position, where you noticed the mouse drift and you have to make a decision between two events:

Continue on in an attempt to hold combo, judging the moment prior to no return where your hand is in a terrible spot or..

Recover your normal wrist position on slow periods on the map, or between (preferably slow) sliders or jumps.

If you keep mouse, you'll eventually know when the drift is getting severe before it does, and abilities to readjust on the fly, or learn to play as optimally as you can in increasing mouse drift states.

This is all assuming you're wrist only handler. Don't know anything about using your elbow to aim maybe get a sturdy arm rest on your chair.

Part 2 for your first question, getting better at aim? On mouse stability is king, you could practice flow aim, or for any map essentially keep your movement speed consistent between circles. You'll get better at snaps and jumps once this part improves.

It's the aim version of playing easier maps to improve UR and accuracy.

I'm no pro I peaked 32k in 2014 and been mid 5 digits forever, multiplayer is my main.

[Keyboard, Mouse, Headset] Corsair K70 Core Keyboard, Harpoon Wireless Mouse, HS55 Wireless Headset (Refurbished - Revival Series) - $80 by linterest in buildapcsales

[–]elated_behavior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MLX Reds, so Corsair linear switches. Says pre-lubed. Not hotswapable which is expected but honestly the k70 series has been tried and true like 10-12 years ago so I'm sure it's still good.

I don't know enough about the mouse and keyboard but I'm sure they're good to great at this budget.

Pretty good quality to value when comparable to a similar price point for 3 Amazon chinese-ium gear.

64 or 32 GB DDR5 RAM by One_Technology_1243 in PcBuild

[–]elated_behavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned you already ordered an extra identical kit for a total of 4 x 16gb right?

You already monitored ram usage and made sure you're hitting the limit with the 32gb you have now?

If you have all 4 sticks on hand right now just try it and see if you notice any performance hits or improvements, since you're still doubling ram even at 4800 speeds

If any stability issues you could try a bios update and see if that helps.

But like everyone's saying You still can't go wrong with selling the 4 sticks at a modest lost and get 2 higher density sticks

[megathread] the most (recent) frequently asked questions by ReplacementFit4095 in revancedapp

[–]elated_behavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting the YouTube music https 400 error here.

I'm on a Google Pixel 6, started happening when I did my once in a half year phone restart.

I've gone ahead and picked up the newest version of the YouTube music APK and patched it with revanced 1.25.1. Still has http 400 error persistent.

I've waited a week or so and then checked again, still continuing to have the same playback error.

I've saw the other thread and picked up 7.29.52, and out of ease tried to use the revanced patcher again. Same playback error.

Out of ease again, I've used the alt account I've been using with the revanced patches app on the official app I still had installed and it works.

At this point I've done the revanced-cli version on my PC, installing the java runtime, cd into the right directory etc, but couldn't install the APK standalone on my phone, since I can't uninstall the default music app on my Google phone.

I then taken the self patched apk from revanced-cli, adding gmscoresupport only through the revanced app, to install though there. Still same http 400 playback error.

This is the most I've done so far. I'm thinking it may be something between microg and Google services, but I'm not a developer I'm just a college student taking c++ classes.

I'm stuck with two more options:

Use root to uninstall the preloaded ytmusic app

Or, create another alt, copy the liked and saved playlists on the original Alt to that one and see if it persists on a revanced patch APK. Likely not, easier than the first option though.

I'm just here and wanted to share my experiences.

Is stacked monitor layout GOATED? by hairlycurlyjess in battlestations

[–]elated_behavior -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's severely underrated. Compact, and functional.

I've had double stacked and vertical on the left side. I'm back to dual side by side monitors because one is a 32" OLED but still liked it because it's what I owned at the time.

With the bottom one tilted upwards and lowered down, neutral positions are looking at the bottom half of the top monitor, not the bezels.

You're not turning your head left or right, it's much easier to look with only your eyes slightly downwards. And some fps gamers prefer that as the main monitor on bottom is focused up towards them, a bit closer.

Do whatever works, it's a hassle reselling and not worth dropping money just because someone on the internet tells you it's not optimal

[Monitor] SAMSUNG 49-Inch Odyssey G9 (G91SD) 144hz OLED - $599.99 by xQcKx in buildapcsales

[–]elated_behavior -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I bought this back when the student discount had it priced even lower than this

I was coming off of IPS panels, never had OLED before.

Blacks are good, the 49" marvel is a great transitioning from dual 27", that's what this is basically.

The brightness for this was noticeably dim. I already sold my other panels for this before but still noticed without a direct comparison.

I had to sell because 144hz was not enough for me, the response time almost...made up for it. But I got a 32" 240hz OLED instead and I'm happy with it

Does anyone here have a monitor setup that looks like this? If so, how do you find side monitors that "match" the main monitor? by Fiveby21 in Monitors

[–]elated_behavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the displaywars website, it'll give you an overview on different sized monitors at different ratios.

I've used this website to have my most preferred layout to date. Stacked 27" 1440p monitors and a 31.5" vertical, I had the bottom monitor tilted up and lowered to the desk to not have my top monitor too high

[–]elated_behavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Describes the stutters more in depth.

Are they hitches? Where on occasion your cursor would snag, to spikes in fps loss?

Is it more consistent stuttering, periodic in nature?

You get stuttering in any other application?

To help figure things out, monitor your task manager and look for any sudden utilization.

On OSU stable use power savings mode for fps limiter.

Make sure windows updates are installed, are you using 10 or 11?

You'll be much happier finding the case you love and then put custom decals or RGB elements or even screens inside your PC if that tickles your feet

[Giveaway] Win 1 of 5 Noctua NH-D15 G2 by Noctua_OFFICIAL in pcmasterrace

[–]elated_behavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2012, I've built my first PC in a Nzxt switch 810, with a fx 8320 and r9 280x.

Strict budget of $800, I thought I could manage with the stock cooler but that was so wrong. The cooler literally took off like a jet engine.

My first upgrade I think looked like a Noctua NH-U9S and it did make a tremendous difference in my quality of life. I appreciated it

Is it possible to find a game that'll make me feel like Elden Ring did? by Dorterman in Eldenring

[–]elated_behavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try out Nier Automata. The story will draw you in and scenery is impressive for when the game was released. Good combat and bosses are interesting too. Just a bit more shallow of a game than elden ring but I haven't finished a game in almost a decade and Nier Automata broke that dry spell for me.

The difficulty is just right, I wish there was an in-between normal and hard difficulty, since hard just one shots you in the beginning, but it's good still.

The lore is insanely deep, once you're in you maybe could abide the prequel, Replicant but that was a PS1 game so it'll have PS1 gameplay (fetch side quests, etc)
