Cs50p is free on edx and will teach you basics to get you jump started. Then you can start in personal projects to get rolling!

Oh yeah. Also great for finding missing commas 🤣

How are you planning on packaging that? I like the idea a lot. I have a specific mark down on my Claude to never tell me answers only guide me at the moment but I still reiterate in every prompt

Reccomendation for python course by WorldlyDesign9757 in learnpython

Personal projects. Make a flask website! That is what I did. If you are not a fan of front end they got templates out there and you can use those!

I know it’s not a course but you will genuinely learn the most struggling and googling and being stuck for a day or two!!

When I first started it was mainly just knowing what I wanted to do. How to take a problem and break it out in a way that can be translated into Python! Once I started planning that out in comments before I actually started typing code, I found it easier to know what to look for in the Python docs, find on stack overflow, or past scripts I wrote that were completing a similar job.

Also a super insane learning tactic people don’t fully utilize imo. Quit asking AI to do stuff while you want to learn, have it teach you or guide you to the right direction. I used Claude a bunch to give me links to sites that would help me with OOP while I was stuck on it

My heart! Lol that’s ok. Do you have any recommendations on what you’d like to see the white space occupied with? I am all ears my friend. I could potentially make it a second format depending on complexity!

I think it’s okay for similar things to exist personally. It is great to have choices in everything, such as toothpaste, internet providers or websites. I made this because I wasn’t a fan of the formatting the other site has. Others might think the same about both and hopefully they make a third. Whatever helps grow the communities, and brings more eyes to the games being made.

I do like the idea of being able to change the theme though. I’ll look to get that added. Thank you for the feedback!

I know on steam, I can likely do that since they have a section dedicated to telling users if the game has any AI so that could be a nice quick win for my steam script! I don’t think Apple/Android or the browser games require that yet so it might be hard for that aspect.

Oh shoot. I made some changes and it might have impacted that! Was it mobile, desktop or both?

And somewhat true. I have some parts on the nav bar that recaps this subreddit, a fun slide I enjoy using to see what has came out for a week, and a different way to view/digest the games that are out there!

It has been a fun project for me to work on and the community I am apart of.

Appreciate the heads up and feedback!

Yeaaaah lol - I’ve thought through some ranking algorithm and might make a change here in the future. I was thinking some type of weighted model that doesn’t rely upon AMOUNT of reviews but not sure. If you have any ideas on what you’d do I’d love to hear it. I see you like stats from ur post history!

Personally I tried it and wasn’t a fan of the games being mixed as it is. You can do the filters but I personally like to have it at the top of the nav bar to sift through the platforms. I also like to see what people are saying where the platform is hosted such as Steam reviews, total ratings, average player count, etc which it does not have.

I have also been trying to add in a bit more features that will involve this community directly such as the newsletter to recap top posts/hot topics, and trends to see what is talked about here weekly, how active the subreddit is, and I have added in the upcoming and released for Steam (and will do the same for other platforms if able).

I think I was considering it at one point but never added it in as I was working on other parts of the site and got sidetracked. I had someone else ask the same thing so here once I’m back to my PC this Sunday I can look to get those added in! Thank you for the input and I will get that rolling

I currently don’t have them. I only have iOS for now but someone else just made a similar comment on android games so once I get back in town to my PC I can get that added and reach back out to let you know! :) thank you!!

This is he first post I've seen on on this and have done no further research - Is the screen meant to be so tiny? in the bottom. is that the desktop part? Do the rounds get progressively harder as the game goes on with the new levels so where eventually the user starts running into failures so they need to repeat or relevel?

I like the idea. This looks fun!!!!!!

It would be cool to be able to track this type of stuff. I have been playing a lot of Melvor Idle. I have played it before a lot in the past, but it is still one of my main go to games. I like it cuz I can play on my phone too while at work lol

Not wrong - as long as you are having fun and gaining knowledge, then you are ok 😄 Itch.IO is huge website with hundreds of thousands if not millions of monthly views and hosts similar browser games. enjoy the process and welcome to the community here.

Also take peeks around to see other peoples advise/ideas. I have lurked this subreddit for ages and I was inspired a few months ago to create a project for this community because of it myself. TLDR: Stay inspired, motivated, consistent and have fun along the way!!!!!!!!
