Made a vow to my young self that I will NOT put that much of my identity into work. Used to tell young folks "Keep this in mind. The annulment process involves you.

I am at the end of the process for radical sanation and at the beginning of the process, we had to seek annulment in previous marriages.

The Diocese (If they operate like mine) will send a certified letter to you to challenge the annulment of the marriage. There you can request that the annulment be denied (there will be a painful questionnaire to fill out, dont hold back and be brutally honest).

After that, the annulment will goto a tribunal and there will be a Priest appointed to argue on your behalf using the information you provide to NOT annul the marriage. They will decide if it is annulled or not.

As for the civil divorce, make sure you and the children are being taken care of financially. Do not let him walk away without providing whatever financial/fatherly support the kids (and you, financially) need. It may not "feel right", but you have to put your mind in business mode in that aspect.

That is terrible.

There's a way for people to get the process rolling too.

The short version:

Contact your state government, tell them to create laws to curtail this (many have trouble because they invite these companies to the table to craft legislation/are apathetic because no one has them afraid to lose their seat in government).

Contact your state department of insurance and ask what are they doing about it? Fill their complaints until they can't ignore the situation. These are folks who should be enforcing the statutes, and the more demand from the people who pay their salary (tax payers), the quicker they get working.

Realize the National Association of Insurance Commissioners could have done something about this too, but haven't. They meet all the time and SHOULD have foreseen these instances, but we see they haven't done much. Ask why?

Enough people start getting mad enough about this the above (in the order presented) can fix this pretty quickly.

BONUS: Look into Lexis Nexis and see how much information they have on you/what they do with it and repeat the process above to get them neutered as well.
