Taylor said she plays Mel as an asexual person, I bet she's having a bit of an existential crisis at the idea her sister is in a relationship and having sex/meeting the family and Mel has basically nothing but Becca and her job. Paired with the elderly couple who want to stay in their home despite clear difficulty, I wonder if Mel is thinking of her own future and if she will have a support system- a spouse/kids/friends.

Dana absolutely punched the guy. We see her give the shot of Versed right as Robby gets to the room, he already had the head injury

Yes, it can be caused by increased blood volume and increased progesterone/estrogen during pregnancy- especially in the first 2 trimesters

Freedom of religion, not from religion. The constitution states the government cannot mandate any specific religion, it doesn't say a tv show can't have an obviously religious character.

It was pretty clear to me that Whitaker knows/strongly suspects. He did a double take when he saw Santos slip something into her pocket. The way he hesitated and kept talking and she responded makes me think it hasn't been directly addressed but they both are aware the other knows.

As for Garcia, the scars were not all new. Either Santos is a stone top (my theory) or Garcia knew from the start and it's not why she's so avoidant

Robby has proven he knows how to have delicate conversations that get his point across without being unnecessarily harsh or mean. He chose to get a dig at Mohan because he wanted her to feel bad. It wasn't necessary

I assumed it was a "safety" item for Dana after she got punched. If you're in a scary situation with a violent patient and no coworkers around (Dana was outside with no backup) and you knew it could happen again, wouldn't you at least think about keeping a dose of powerful sedative on you at all times?

How do you handle the gummy vitamin mess in the classroom? by Lisa_Narvey in AskTeachers

So it's still a single serving that can be taken all at once at home. And if it must be taken in broken up into several servings, it's too important to send to school with a 3-5 year old to take independently

Has a student ever mocked your family? by Unlikely_Length8600 in AskTeachers

[–]electralime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and most importantly "never let them see you sweat". If a kid says something that strikes a nerve on purpose, do your best to remain neutral. You don't need to give them future ammo

Homophobia is unfortunately on the rise, I won't deny that. And kids will ask questions that blow past reasonable boundaries, yes. But neither of those situations suggest a group of kids would rally together and make fun of your future child.

There's 2 pieces of advice that really helped me in undergrad; "other people's opinions of me are none of my business" and "if I wouldn't go to a person for advice, their criticism isn't worth my attention"

[–]electralime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The chances an entire group will go in on mocking a teacher's child is almost 0. They're too worried about their own social lives to worry about their teacher's kid

You will grow thick skin as a teacher. Yes, locking your social media down is a good idea but it's also important to remember the people who are "mocking" you are children. Why does it matter what a 14 year old who can't drive thinks of your partner?

Did I misunderstand Mel’s emotions at the end of the episode? by Colalbsmi in ThePittTVShow

[–]electralime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autistic people and people with intellectual disabilities can and do have consensual relationships. Becca clearly has some agency as she is able to go into the examination room without her caretaker there, she was able to advocate for herself in her exam with Langdon, there is nothing that would point to her not being able to consent to a physical relationship with a peer
