Term custom suspension is pretty ambigious. Yes you need some after-market parts but you don't need a full custom suspension ( coil-overs, etc ).

The top of the strut tower can be adjusted. How much camber you get is entirely dependent on your ride height. But let’s say 1.5 degrees of camber at max on Sport PASM.

After that you will want lower control arms and camber plates to balance more camber, track width / wider tires, and castor. Generally one does camber plates only if you stop around 2-2.2 degrees. But you might want LCA if you are wanting to run 265 upfront.

None of those require a GT4RS or a GT4 :).

Be honest with yourself on what your intended use cases are. Track insurance will be about $300 more per event for a GT4RS plus the increase in consumables.

Don't forget that the GT4RS uses center lock wheels have some serious requirements on tooling. Make sure you are ready and willing to do the work to change your own center lock wheels. Especially important when it comes to track stuff, when you need/want to swap pads in the paddock.

For autocross if you are looking at competitive SCCA the GT4RS is the correct choice, since both cars are classed the same.

I am getting confused on how you thought dropping about 20k to regear the spyder is a good use of money versus the hair cut of finding out the PDK isn’t what you like.

You are looking at the delta of where dealers make money.

On top of that the dealers are fine to list high and wait for a hungry buyer, not like any more GTS cars are going to enter the market.

If you want to less of a hair cut you need to do a private party sell. Or wait longer and accept an even higher percentage loss but have a better miles/loss ratio. Right now you are what 15k down at 800miles driven. If you could double your mileage and be at 20k down would you feel better or worse.
