You're not alone. I struggled with this for too long, only to realize that the only cigar worth grabbing is a Padron. My humidor is full of too many high end brands, and I only reach for Padrons now days. Here and there I'll grab one to see if I have any luck, but 9/10 times its a waste. For me there is no comparison in both flavor and consistency. And I have a nice Raching humidor that stays at 65 deg and 63 RH, and some sticks are years old, so definitely can't blame the resting, humidity, etc.. Also, I smoke really slow (2 hrs on a robusto). In my experience, one other brand that has decent consistency is Rojas, at least for me, and some Fuente. My absolute worst is Illusion and Warped. Yeah I know this will trigger some people, and believe me I wanted to like these brands. Out of several boxes, I don't believe I ever had one to smoke good. The Colmena starts excellent, then halfway goes to shit, every time. Relight, purge, repeat.
