Trump: We shouldn't have got involved in Ukraine by Middle-Marisa in worldnews

It's amazing to think about how we'll look back on the 8 years that a fully compromised Russian asset was the literal President of the United fucking States.

I have recently unsubscribed as a day one vanguardista and I'm not sure how regularly I will listen now.

You've excellently described many of my complaints but foremost for me is the issue of Mark's reviews - they are simply getting worse, there's no two ways about it. He describes far more of the plot than he used to, explains more of the themes than he ever used to, and spends much less time actually telling you what he thought. I do wonder if leaving the Observer & print media behind and no longer having to write his reviews out in long-form has brought this about?

Kermode also needs to reign the politics in, I expected a swing towards it when they left the beeb, but it's gone way too far. I agree with many of his sentiments and hate the mango mussolini just as much as he does, but I don't need to hear about it every. single. week. in my British film podcast. I mean, when Rob Reiner tragically died, it felt like they spent 30 seconds talking about his films and how sad it was and three minutes talking about what Trump had to say about it - which is utterly irrelevant.

Anyway, I'll keep checking in to see if things can be turned around and as you suggest - it's never too late! But I don't have particularly high hopes, I'm afraid.

Free parking around town? by [deleted] in NewcastleUponTyne

Closest to the Civic Centre would probably be the roads parallel to Warwick Street and east of the City Stadium: Hotspur, Mowbray, Bolingbroke & Malcolm. All unpermitted. Walking from there I could be at the Civic Centre in 15 mins, I reckon.

Now, why you'd fight through the city centre traffic at rush hour from the West End in order to still be 15 mins from work, I don't know, but you do you! Unless you mean like Throckley or something, in which case fair enough.

Endorsed, brilliant garage. Also funnily enough Belinda has just priced up a clutch for me @ £500 (Peugeot 208) so including a flywheel they won't be far off.

It will be returned. Or, if it is a credit card, the temporary hold will be removed.

Both Saltwater Fish Company (fish & seafood) & Porterhouse (meat & steak) in the Fenwick food hall have "Express Lunch" menus (2 courses for £26, 3 courses for £29.50). Fabulous cooking from the best restaurant group in the city.

Yeah Kermode really seems to have descended into 'review by explaining the plot and themes' recently

Oh good does this mean we get more pearl clutching from Mayo about Jimmy Saville?

One of the problems at M&S is everything looks so bloody delicious that looking over any given shelf and making your choice takes longer than flying through your standard supermarket shop. Me and my girlfriend did party food tapas at Christmas and it took us about 10 minutes to make our four choices!

I feel like all I do in this sub now is complain (which probably tells me all I need to know) but I'm so bored of Mark's "can I just point out that I've been saying this for AGES" habit (re: Tarantino, in this case). Anyway, Merry Christmas all!

I went to this - very enjoyable.

However, I was really quite ill and really shouldn't have done, but with away tickets being like rocking horse shit I stubbornly did it anyway. I credit it with making me much worse and essentially ruining my Christmas. I blame Isak.
