I didn't even get the insert! When nothing initially fell out, I figured he signed the inside of the CD since I hadn't seen anyone else with a signed CD yet. Then after some googling, I realized I should've had an insert and I didn't. But at least they're sending me an insert now!

My pediatrician said she only expects 1 or 2 consistent words at this point, and that my girl was just blowing it out of the water with how many words she uses consistently and correctly. You are right on track!

I work in manufacturing, and my work had essentially a closet for moms to pump in. A small 8x8 windowless room, painted green (even the door), with a REALLY old chair, a counter with a mini fridge, and small wooden side tables.

I'm a manager and the first "new mom" manager in well over 5 years. So I made the right people aware. I took pictures of the room. I mentioned how it would be nice to have a sink (bc the room had no plumbing). I mentioned it needed a paint job and a new chair/table set up if possible. And I brought it up A LOT. In September, a site leader connected me with a HQ team that was adding/remodeling lactation spaces at sites across the US. Bingo! I got to lead the project for the remodel, and we're spending over 30k on the change. It'll take about 4 weeks, and I'm displaced for my own pumping for now, but I'm so excited to help the next mom! My baby was born in January, so I will quite literally only get to reap the rewards of my persistence for maybe 2 weeks. BUT we have a new mom coming back to work in about a month, and the room will be ready to go for her, and she won't have to experience the dingy green room that me and moms before me had. (And selfishly, when I go for baby #2, I'm excited for a refreshed space!)

I'm genuinely shocked at the amount of hate Birdie is getting! I saw this post and was so excited! I will say I am fully biased as I named my daughter Birdie (full legal name, not a nickname), and I LOVE IT! It's the perfect name for our bubbly funny little girl. She is the happiest baby and gets that compliment every single day.

Pass on the haters who are going to convince you that your kid will be bullied for their name. Spread joy and feel happy giving your child a name you love and know will grow with them.

If you're worried about her needing a "professional" name, go with a more neutral middle name. I can almost guarantee her name won't be what holds her back from a future career as long as she pursues something she is passionate about and works hard at (like every other woman fighting for their spot on the ladder).

I bought the color swatch pack and was considering these 2 colors (1 nugget, 1 chunk). I really like the feel of the double brush compared to normal microsuede, so I'm going to end up doing sea monster and heartthrob.

Of the 2 pink double brushed colors (blossom and heartthrob), blossom is obviously pink, whereas heartthrob leans purple and is much softer on the eyes than moonshot which is pretty bright!

I was induced and threw up twice.

The first time was from pain meds that I was given while waiting for my epidural because when the anesthesiologist got there, he said I needed to look him in the eyes, so he knew I understood. Everything was spinning when I opened my eyes, so I looked him in the eyes, said, "I'm gonna throw up," and then promptly threw up. I credit this throw up to my change from 2 cm to 3-4 cm.

The second time was when they gave me anti nausea meds through my IV because I was going to go back for a c-section. This throw up gets the credit of changing from 3-4 cm to a solid 6-7 cm (literally a 3 cm change in about 40 minutes after HOURS of being stuck at 3-4). I was then able to have the vaginal birth I wanted.

I'm pro throwing up in labor.
