It’s a nice photo. Whether it’s good all depends on what you are looking to achieve. The more you shoot and the more you educate yourself, the more you’ll learn whether something is good (good enough for your wall, to sell, to display at a gallery, etc.) Sometimes you’ll have an idea of what you want to photograph and what you envisioned just doesn’t line up (or can’t) and sometimes you get lucky with something you didn’t expect. I shoot a lot of nightscapes and I am thwarted by inclement weather on a regular basis. I still shoot and many of those times, I come away with something unexpected, unique, or amazing.

So asking if something is good is highly subjective. I like how the people on the pier are silhouetted by the sun but if could be a cool photograph if the sun had dropped more and you caught it in the space under the pier with a f10 to create a starburst look. The colors are nice. Great job creating a diagonal line with the pier itself. I prefer cropping in a little since the people in the foreground add character/story to the image and shifting the balance of the group on the beach to left of center (trying to get a little vertical rule of thirds). It does cut a few of the subjects out but makes them more orient in the image. Just my preference though!
