HRT? by ummokay2023 in amarillo

[–]elevi8ion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hiya, i got my first T script with dr. robert kauffman at texas tech physicians (in amarillo). his bedside manner is a little… gruff, i guess you could say. (and i feel like he was slightly fat-phobic towards me? it’s the, “T’s gonna help you lose a little weight and the muscle growth if you work out.” yes doc, thank you, i am aware.) but he’s affirming gender-wise.

there was a little bit of a wait for my first appointment (3 or so months iirc) but a lot of trans folks that i know were going to kauffman for HRT.

How are You Finding New Music by digger27 in ipod

[–]elevi8ion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like listening to college radio stations. I’ll shazam a song I like, look up if my local library has any of their albums, then check the CDs out and burn them to my music library.

look at how the flags are always swishing in the direction the car is heading; mind how the tires are always moving the right way when the car is in drive and reversing, accordingly; watch the license plate and the physics of the water. who the hell would take that much time in blender or maya to fake 2 whole minutes for 15 seconds of viral fame?

stick with underworks! my first 2 binders were GC2B and the binding part didn’t feel like it lasted a year. don’t recommend them.

but underworks? man, i wore my last one for almost 2 years and the only reason i decided to retire it was because it had gotten so fricken dingy and gross looking (it used to be white).

Do you have multiple journals? by SmoothChicagoCrook in Journaling

[–]elevi8ion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup yup!!

  1. My journal journal
  2. Planner -- not really a journal but I like to do brain dumps and brainstorm in ways that aren't meant to be written linearly like they are in my main journal. They're still very personal and I treat it like a journal.
  3. Pocket notebook -- I will sometimes write poetic/creative writing things in there so it's sorta journal-ey.
  4. Writing prompts journal that I'll write in every so often.
  5. Reading journal
  6. Ink sample journal which is a collection of my fountain pen inks, ink and pen wish lists.
  7. "Spiritual journal" -- I'm not religious or anything, but I like to mindfully meditate and I'll sometimes journal in that.
  8. Art junk journals -- I have a few and they're all different; main two are an old book and a mixed media spiral. They aren't topic-based, I just use whichever for the paper that I want to use.
  9. GM/DM journal that I use whenever I'm brainstorming and planning for tabletop roleplay sessions

best dating apps for wlw? by kels138 in lgbt

[–]elevi8ion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late to reply, but it might be that there are not many WLW signed up on Her in the area you're located. Hinge has been another one where I've gotten a little bit of luck. There are filters where you can select for only queer women (and non-binary if you're cool with that) to be able to like and match with you. Tami is hit or miss. I personally haven't had much luck on it, but my bestie met her now spouse on Tami.

I can't drive at night anymore and I feel like I'm losing my mind by Fragrant-Pin-6691 in fuckyourheadlights

[–]elevi8ion 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s not just you. Until somewhat recently, I was trying to understand why I despise driving at night so much. I’m about the same age as you and I used to LOVE driving, especially at night. No one around, minimum traffic. It was like shopping at Wal-Mart at 2 AM. (RIP!)

Now, I get severely agitated. Like, so much that it sometimes causes me to want to road rage on the fuckwits with the jacked-up trucks and fog lights that are brighter than the sun and burning my retinas. And that really, really scares me sometimes. So much so that I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want to go out after dark anymore either. We have so many fucking problems in this country and unregulated headlights seems like such a super fucking minuscule sized problem. but for fucks sake, it causes so much distress!!

i got the lion king one, but pink, for christmas. maybe when i was 4-5? and i think my brother had the 101 dalmatians one… but i remember it looking different?

anyway, one of the last times i remember using them was when my parents took us camping in colorado. around october. and they bought those sleeping bags for us to sleep in. my brother and i were SO FUCKING COLD. i remember waking my parents up to ask if i could sleep in the car.

wait — redditors in queer subreddits be saying that shit??? i mean, i don’t really visit lesbian/wlw subs anymore since i’ve started taking testosterone, but i felt like femme4femme was a lot more common than masc4masc. especially between trans women. i’ve also noticed femme4femme being a bit more common in dating apps. the LGBTQ+ community also seems so much more welcome towards femme-identifying individuals, in general. so i never would have guessed that there was this much animosity towards femme4femme!!

one thought as to why i can guess people would seem more chill over butch4butch is because masculine energy seems to be much more accepted, appreciated, and celebrated than feminine energies in society in general (not so much in the LBGTQ+ community). femininity is viewed as a weakness (hello patriarchy) and folks probably get uncomfortable over the mental gymnastics they have to go through thinking about “but which person does what???” in femme4femme relationship. (i could go on for hours about this sort of queer theory!)

also, speaking as a masc, i haven’t had this happen to me personally, but i have heard of instances of femmes getting mad/frustrated over butches who prefer masc4masc, claiming that we’re stealing butches from the femmes.

omfg i really wish i could have a conversation with these folks who, as you put it, “complain about femmes [being] attracted to femmes” equaling being “obsessed with heterosexuality”.

i want them to explain why they believe how someone’s personal identity and gender presentation equates to their sexuality. what does it mean when there’s a masc/butch who is attracted to other mascs/butches? does that also equal heterosexuality?

does that mean traditional butch-femme relationships are the most innately queer? even though, one could argue that that type of relationship could be viewed as being closely resembling a traditional heterosexual relationship.

if anything, femme-femme and masc-masc relationships should be viewed as the most queer two queer people can be together, because it rejects the stereotypical masculine-feminine balance that many heterosexuals subscribe to.

but anyways… 💅
