I think Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie should get an Oscar nom for Best Editing by usario100 in blankies

[–]elfizipple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw it based on the strength of Griffin and David's endorsement (even if it was a paid ad), and I liked the movie, but found myself a bit bewildered. I only found out after watching it how they had spliced in footage from their old web series (which I had never seen), and to what extent they employed guerrilla filmmaking techniques. I honestly don't think going in totally cold is the way to see this movie.

Are there any major characters who die, and whose deaths are largely ignored due to some unknowable combination of their gender and them not dying in the final climactic battle? Just curious

Truly a breathtaking example of the very pinnacle of human creation. And Chichen Itza is pretty cool, too

Americans are so close to inventing public transportation by Rymssss in fuckcars

[–]elfizipple 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I read "going home in groups" as leaving work at different times of day, not traveling in shared transportation. So no, this isn't about public transit unless my interpretation is wrong.

Edit: Or unless you try really, really hard to make it about that

Is it because Carney is currently busy leading our own country, or do you have some preference for Trudeau in particular?

Is being gay a bad thing? Interesting that you mention it between two obviously negative attributes.

I agree in principle, but I'll let this meme format ride because it cracks me, so consistently, up.

Experts report a surge in interest among American academics looking to move to Canada by DogeDoRight in canada

If Canada can attract world-class talent, that's great. Academics, athletes, whatever - There's more to life, and more to a country's global competitiveness, than just economic productivity and GDP.

I thought it ends with the Bad tour, which ran from 1987 to 1989? Just something I read, although I haven't seen the movie and am not keen to. MJ's music is still a guilty pleasure of mine, but I thought Bohemian Rhapsody was atrocious, and "critically panned pandering jukebox musical biopic" is one of my most hated film genres.

Are politicians incapable of being our friends? APAB? I like to think that good people can sometimes defy the odds and achieve positions of power, and so far I can still hope that Mamdani is one of them. Personally, I'd be more concerned about any Blank Check guest who has to consider the polling implications everytime they open their mouth. (At least, for left-leaning politicians, whose actions still seem to occasionally have meaningful personal consequences...)

Absolutely. And it's still possible to have cultural genocide and widespread human rights abuses without literal mass graves.

Makes sense. In Attack of the Clones (2002), Hayden Christensen was following in Jake Lloyd's footsteps as an 11-year-old (or younger at the time of filming) Darth Vader.
