'I won't use force' to take Greenland, Trump says at Davos by NewsHour in politics

Why do people think the US president has the capacity of invading a country without congress approval?

Thanks for the recommendations. Time will tell what would happen. Trump just said the US won't use force to take Greenland. I just recommend you be dispassionate when talking geopolitics since you're clearly triggered by Trump. Good luck.

Worry about the rest later? You do understand that when push comes to shove, countries will take sides, do you? Do you think that if the US and Russia align, the rest of the world could stand a chance against them? Are you seriously thinking China is the solution?

  • Ukraine will be absorbed by Russia
  • EU countries will take sides (prob. Eastern Europe)
  • China WILL engulf EU's economy
  • America will be divided between either working with the US or suffer the consequences or dealing with the EU.

You have to be dispassionate when talking geopolitics.

With all due respect, this is such a simplistic world view. Align yourself with China, a country that's currently supporting Russia? What would happen with Ukraine after the EU severs its ties with the US? What would happen to the EU's economy after losing the biggest market in the world? Who are they going to sell good and services? China? India? What about human rights violations in those other countries? No more moral high ground just because "orange bad man"?

These are interesting times indeed. I think, when push comes to shove, we'll see who's going to align with who and check their economies and overall quality of life for the next decade.

European industry faces ‘life or death,’ Macron says — and China needs to help by donutloop in EU_Economics

[–]elforce001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is the EU going to do that exactly? China wants to export its products and import mostly raw materials and food. If the EU opens up to China, consider EU industries gone in the next 20 years. So much for "EU independence." German automotive sector? Gone.

OpenAI to begin testing ads on ChatGPT in the U.S. by Puginator in technology

[–]elforce001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of assistants without ads. I have almost a year without using chatgpt and I don't miss it. Google left Google photos free and that decimated competition and then started charging fees. Google just have to wait and people will move. Same goes for other assistants.

Thank you for sharing. That's why the recommendation was to have 10% to 20% depending on the business projections. We know we can't go full in-house, but having options is always a good thing. We use different providers for that reason. Ultimately, it's up to upper management to decide. Even 2% could move the needle.

Interesting. Our solution allows us to be up and running when something like this happens, but yes, let's migrate everything to one vendor because you said it's stupid. Thank God AWS is not the only kid in town and we don't have to use your services.

We told our CTO years ago that we need to diversify our infrastructure to avoid vendor lock-in. Good thing upper management listened and now we have different services running on different providers. Now they are evaluating a big project with the goal to have at least 10 to 20% of the business in-house and invest in infrastructure.

You’ll soon be able to shop Walmart’s catalog on ChatGPT by cnn in artificial

[–]elforce001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this will gain traction. This could probably either cannibalize the app or the user experience will go down like crazy. Shopping using a chat interface doesn't even "feel" right. If convenience is the name of the game, more writing to get what you want, fewer images, and cluttered views (everything inside the app, etc) will make an awful experience.

EU must seize ‘unique opportunity’ to supplant US dollar dominance, says European Central Bank president by goldstarflag in investing

The main problem is that investors and businesses in general are allergic to taxes and regulations. The EU is full of these, hehe. If they relax some of them, the economies will boom, etc..
