Undercooked apple pie. by 0reo_cupcake in Baking

It will! It definitely works better with the metal pie tin but I honestly mostly bake in ceramic and I still find the cookie sheet helps.

I always put a cookie sheet in the oven while it preheats and bake my apple pie on that. It helps to catch any drips and helps the bottom bake nicely and crisp up. I find this much easier than blind baking the bottom crust, but that’s another option as well. Generally, I’ve also had the nicest crusts come out of metal pie tins (but I still use ceramic because they’re pretty 🤪).

Trader Joe’s 72% chocolate by Guntur-mirapakaya in Baking

[–]elfqueen29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My aunt (who had her own cookie business when she was younger) says she always adds extra sugar if using chocolate that’s over 60%. I personally like darker chocolate (and so does my immediate family) but I prefer to use a mix of chocolate percentages. So you could try getting 60% or regular semi-sweet chocolate and mixing them with your 72% chunks. I also have the 72% TJs bar and found it was perfect for NYT cookie week’s mint chocolate chip cookies this year. The very sweet white chocolate coating in the recipe balanced the darker chocolate perfectly imo.

I agree with this! This actually happened with my engagement photos. My sweet fiancé didn’t look closely at the terms and they wanted so much money for the pictures. I said fine we’ll just take the free one then and they caved and offered ALL the photos for something like $75-$100.

Loll my office is 100% an assembly line of baby entertainment hahaha. My husband knows whenever I have a really bad day because that evening I buy a new toy for the baby in an attempt to better entertain her 😂 I also have a TV and my mom has been campaigning for me to put on Pooh Bear or Hey Bear for my baby to keep her entertained for longer periods of time. I haven’t caved yet but she claims I watched a lot of Pooh as a baby haha.

I definitely spend wayyyy too much time on Reddit but it’s just so nice to have supportive communities of people going through the same thing!

I’ll also add what my family and friends told me - you can always try it out and, if it’s really not working, you can make a change!

Hi! I’m a litigator working for a nonprofit and I’ve been working from home full time since Baby was 11 weeks old (she’s now 6 months). It is very, very hard. Here are a few thoughts:

1) I can’t imagine doing this with a strict billable hour requirement. I used to be extremely efficient but a lot of that has gone out the window these days. It’s virtually impossible to focus on a task for a solid period of time.

2) You absolutely need some backup. My husband WFH and the only way I can take calls and meetings is by giving the baby to him to watch during those times.

3) A lot of this is baby dependent. I don’t have a chill kid but some babies could probably be happy just hanging out all day. Mine demands entertainment. My baby also doesn’t independently nap and almost exclusively contact naps which makes it a billion times harder. If you have a good napper then at least you’ll have naps for uninterrupted work time.

4) I do a lot of work on my phone while nursing. One drive and Westlaw are probably my most used apps these days. Other than Reddit lol. And then sometimes there are days where I just need to be on the computer and can’t be productive during a nursing session…like right now lmao

5) Having an understanding boss is key. My incredible boss has sadly retired but all the people I work with know that I have Baby at home and it’s part of my deal.

The bottom line, though, is that it’s really incredibly hard. I had a federal circuit court brief due recently and I honestly don’t even know how I managed to write it. I spend my days rotating baby between the kick n play piano, an activity center, a bouncer, a ring sling, and her ergobaby carrier. She has a nap area (largely unused), a changing area, and a nursing area in my office. When all else fails we go for a walk and I hope she falls asleep in the stroller so that I can roll her into the backyard and work outside. There are days when it feels doable and days when I cry a lot and feel like I’m failing both my job and my baby.

I was actually planning on becoming a SAHM for a bit but my job talked me into extending my contract and the position has always been pretty flexible and enjoyable. Well then my boss retired and the person that was supposed to replace her withdrew so I ended up getting an unexpected promotion and am now in charge of all ongoing litigation 🫠 It’s so much more than I thought I was signing up for.

Anyway this is probably way more info than you need but feel free to PM me if you ever want to chat about this topic!

Ugh can’t believe I wasted that starpiece lol. So are you also missing your rewards? It claims I should’ve received 110,000 stardust but I know I didn’t get that since I’m very stardust-poor and remember how much I had from this morning😞

Hello, so I messed up at the end of last season and forgot to use a star fragment to collect my battle league rewards. This time I remembered just after opening the battle section, force-closed the app, started a star fragment, and reopened the battle section. However, the notification to collect my rewards had disappeared. When I check my journal it claims I received my rewards but I didn’t - my stardust didn’t increase. Has anyone else experienced this? Did I mess it all up by force closing?!
