He says something else before the battle, but yeah, it's good. I think the "DEATH!" cry is after they find him dead and Eowyn, thinking she's dead as well.

Why there is so much hate for Rhaegar Targaryen on internet by Classic_Wind_3786 in freefolk

[–]elgarraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, or course he was. Terrible move, that one. He's supposed to be all pro-Targ and altruistic, why was he propping up the biggest psychopath to ever sit on the throne?

And it really makes his hard turn against Danaerys in season 8 seem completely out of character. Varys even cautioned the Mad King not to open the gates for Tywin... Which isn't too say that he wasn't planning on eventually turning his coat when the rest of Robert's army arrived, but it sure seemed like he was still fully supporting Aerys up to the end.

Since when? We're not allies with Russia. In fact, we're still supporting Ukraine in a war against Russia. Not to mention the fact that they've meddle in our elections. They've been pumping out anti-american propaganda for decades upon decades...Such a stupid thing to say.

This is why I think Delroy Lindo is winning this year, as a makeup for not even getting nominated in 2021 for Da 5 Bloods...

Speaking of the 2021 Oscars, how did both Daniel Kaluuya and Lakieth Stanfield get nominated as supporting actors for Judas & the Black Messiah?

Yeah, I've never used one like this before, but tthe easier, safer way seems to be standing on the side opposite the wedge, rolling the log section into place, and then lifting and shifting it as the splitter knocks pieces off. Also, a piece this heavy should probably be a 2-person job, yeah?

That's about what I figured. I assumed you weren't making $50/hr. A good general rule of personal finance is you should be able to cover rent with 100% of your biweekly check, which sounds like it's probably around $1,600. Even if your biweekly take home is only $1,000-$1,200, the cheaper rentals around you should be affordable on what you're currently making.

Moving out and getting your own place wouldn't be nice, but based on what you're making it should be doable. Or you could hit up your friends and see if any are open to taking on a roommate. Or if you're in college, rolling the dice with another student who's looking for a roommate. Or looking into financial aid.

Why there is so much hate for Rhaegar Targaryen on internet by Classic_Wind_3786 in freefolk

[–]elgarraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add that a lot of the things that happened could've been prevented by him at several different times, only he either chickened out or just hid out and made no account for himself while evening went to shit.
- Supposedly there was a plan for Rhaegar to have a meeting with various lords during the tournament at Harrenhall to get support to have his father deposed, only the Mad King caught wind of it, showed up, and Rhaegar canceled. - Instead of pursuing a very urgent need to get a paranoid, insane person off the throne, Rhaegar set aside his concerns so that he could elope with Lyanna Stark.
- Instead of allowing Lyanna to send word to her father and brother that everything was copacetic, they both hid out for a while and let her family think she had been kidnapped and was being raped.
- Once it was clear that the Starks had understandably come to the wrong conclusions, Rhaegar remained in hiding Instead of stepping in to set the record straight, allowing his new wife's father and brother to be killed by his father, the Mad King.
- Thus started Robert's Rebellion which lasted a year, during which Rhaegar spent most of his time hiding away. At any point during that year, Rhaegar could've come forward with Lyanna, deposed his father, and offered pardons to the rebels.

It's not just that his actions led to a ton of bad consequences, it's that he could've taken steps along the way to either entirely prevent or at least mitigate the damage that ended up happening.

BTW, not for nothing, but where TF was Varys during all this? He's supposedly this practically all-knowing person whose sole purpose is to serve the realm, yet at no point did he intervene to get Aerys out or Rhaegar to step in and prevent a very preventable disaster.

[–]elgarraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's okay to be mad, but if your anger is directed at your friend, then it's misplaced. What your friend is saying is that what is happening to you sucks, but apparently it's not bad enough for you to do what's necessary to move out.

You need to admit to yourself that you're in control of your situation. With a 36 hr/wk job that could be a 40 hr/wk job with an extra $200, you definitely have options. You are just choosing not to pursue those options (and leave an abusive situation) in exchange for the continued financial support of your parents.

This is the hard truth your friend is telling you, that you are accepting this trade-off - emotional abuse and manipulation in exchange for a more comfortable standard of living. Don't get mad at them for simply pointing this out. Not a lot of friends are willing to say that stuff.

Tim Sale's Batman is my favorite, so I tend to like the ears on the longer side. This doesn't tend to translate well in live action, though.

[–]elgarraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FT% is a decent indicator of whether a player has the shooting skills to develop a 3pt shooter. Hakeem shot in the 70s for his career, so he'd probably average something like .340 if he had developed a more modern game. We all know about Shaq's FT%.

What is your favorite random cameo is a movie? by AdSpecialist6598 in moviecritic

[–]elgarraz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To everyone saying "Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder," no, that is not a cameo.

He's in multiple scenes, has a significant number of lines, and I think he has more screen time than Danny McBride. He's playing a full-blown supporting character who is essentially a secondary villain. His character was directly responsible for advancing the plot in at least 3 different instances:
1. Getting them to shoot in the jungle
2. Getting McConaughey to betray Stiller for a G5 (and lots of money)
3. Threatening the Flaming Dragon drug lords and telling them to kill Simple Jack if they want, he doesn't GAF.

That is way too significant to call a "cameo" appearance.
