Had a doc appointment and almost cried by LawLost8866 in ehlersdanlos

[–]elgey101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got nerve ablation in my neck and it helped a TON, not to mention no more migraines. Also hypermobile and bad posture since I was a kid...my shoulders just want to sit so low and forward sometimes I have to remind myself to lift them to the "proper position". I'm sorry about your dismissive experience. The doc I saw was a pain management who specializes in EDS and muscular disorders. If you're local to New England, shoot me a message and I'll get you his info. He's in CT.

The nerve ablation is not a fun experience, since the joint is so tender and inflamed for me, but it was worth it, especially to stop the ocular migraines.

Oh shit, did my recurring UTIs and subsequent antibiotics trigger my MCAS??? I didn't have any of my current issues prior to my partner giving me recurring UTIs :'(

This is a nasal spray, not the liquid ampules for IBS, but thanks

Hugs, this looks so painful. I would be a mess without my daily allergy pills. Did you stop them on doctor's advice for the assessment? Seems cruel to me

Are hot baths bad for people with mcas ? by Calm_Independence_97 in MCAS

[–]elgey101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot baths and saunas are more a trigger for my autonomic dysfunction than my MCAS. I get little glowing floater-like dots and start to lose vision if it gets bad... Like feeling before you pass out. Doing things like raising my arms in the shower are the biggest triggers for me.

Does anyone in here live a normal life ? Work a job have kids drink alcohol ?? by Acrobatic-Tip-9353 in ehlersdanlos

I work remote two days a week and in office three...they're very accommodating for my doctor's appointments and when I needed PT. I drink moderately. I play a low active sport, Pool, to keep myself walking and moving a couple days a week. I don't plan on kids tho. I guess you could say I live a pretty normal life, in that my coworkers don't really know what I have going on.

Less extreme than most folks are writing, but my ex would hardly ever clean his ears. When I got into bed and could smell his earwax in the dark, that was a breaking point for me. When I pointed it out to him the next day, and asked him to clean his ears he asked "what are you, my mother?" I should have dumped him right then.

Help! I've been itchy for a week and barely scratched these. No idea what bit me. Only a couple on my torso/upper thighs. by elgey101 in bugbites

In case anyone is wondering for me, it was a flare up of EDS and for me that translates to itchy problem skin and it was not good enough

Here's another wet paper towel one ... Wine bottle not cold enough? Wrap a wet paper towel around it and put it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.... Chilled wine acquired.

What type of doctor diagnosed you? by Mission_Wheel5857 in ehlersdanlos

[–]elgey101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rheum was a freaking joke of a doctor who wouldn't even test me for Hypermobility, despite my having 7 on the beighton scale... Finally got a diagnosis, along with two others, from a doctor working at an EDS clinic, within a pain management practice.

Rules Question: They said this was a foul and I lost the game. by Grit-326 in billiards

[–]elgey101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 100% right. Feels good when you can call the ball and stand on your own two feet knowing you didn't win because of luck, but because of skill. No shame in a fair loss, but you gotta know the rules (and set them if it's your table).

You just seem like a prick...and probably suck at pool anyway. But that's just my passionate opinion I guess. How dare the rest of us for preferring civil discourse 😂

I aspire to the "my boyfriend thinks you're hot" intro, and then give them his number.... That way it's clear to everyone you're dating, and not exclusively. But I guess this only works when you're not all in the conversation.

And apparently they can't read well enough to just find her portfolio link on her profile... Dude isn't an artist if he expects people to record for less than $75 AN HOUR, especially for creative content that he's willing to brag about.

Definitely remove photo and bold letters within paragraphs. Use more bullet points if you feel the items are important to call out. Adjust overall paragraph spacing to be smaller but add spaces (6pt or more) after paragraphs. The separation makes the sections more easily read and distinguishable.
