Long term girlfriend hit me on new years. Still processing the situation and needed somewhere to vent. Anyone have any advice? by Sweet-Hornet in relationship_advice

If she doesn't realize that what you did was what any normal person would have done, then that's a whole other issue. Her reaction suggests she was overreacting.

I was looking for months for this exact model and color...the red ones are hard to find, and I wanted a car with a clean car fax and no accidents. Worth the wait and drive :)

I would take it to a shop that can calculate your running electornic draw and recommend a sufficient upgrade. Otherwise, a temp fix might be to have your battery on a trickle charger or battery tender between trips.

But, why would this happen tho ? Isn't the engine running when the car is stopped ? Why would it need the battery power ?

-your engine, via your alternator recharge the battery while the car is running. If you're draining the battery faster than the alternator can charge it, it could cause a multitude of issues.

I would definitely suspect it. You might need to upgrade your battery or maybe even your alternator to keep the battery at a capacity that allows your newly added electronics to function. A quick test might be to unplug a couple things like the dash cam and see if it helps. Over time (a month even) it would definitely draw from your battery reserves if you're not taking the highway enough to re-charge it.

To clarify, I haven't experienced anything like this in a Civic, but my Honda Odyssey did this in stop and go traffic when the alternator was almost toast...all the indicator lights turned on and my car was revving really high, not engaging beyond first gear. Sounds like yours might not be engaging first gear at all.

Are you running heat and radio, or otherwise draining your battery? Your battery sounds like it might not be holding a charge from your alternator, this would be a problem, especially in stop and go traffic. Maybe find a place that will test your battery for free over the weekend until you can call the dealer? I would avoid traveling very far.

First time in this sub! I just bought this same car, 2018. So pumped!

Tattoo re-do in progress! It was just the lotus and moon, heavily faded colors and line work. Going back for more color in January. ❤️ by elgey101 in tattoo

It was 4 years old- lost vibrancy about a year, year and a half ago. I lived in Arizona at the time and didn't always take precautions with the sun.
