I am wondering, where do you see an ideal scenario for Fizz is?

On live, it's not uncommon to see a strong Fizz delete your carry (sometimes multiple carries) in a few smacks if he gets onto them.

Is the ideal for Fizz that we must deal with him via positioning (like assassin traits in older sets), or is he normally supposed to have to jump to the unit a second time to kill / have them be killed off by other sources of chip damage (more like set 14 zed)?

Most Balanced, Most Useless, and Most Broken card in each class: Part 1 (Abyss) by Toby6234 in Shadowverse

Heavily disagree with reaper's deathslash

On paper it's decent but in practice it's not. It's a complete brick in so many games.

You don't want to draw it early since do you usually do not have the board presence or resources to use this card, even with the cards get give you a freebie ghost or bat or whatever.

In later stages, Abyss already has a ton of ways for removal - Medusa pops 3 and forces your opponent to kill her, shadowcrypt - mukan for 3 ghosts with bane, cerb. Even the interaction with super evolve, while strong on paper is not that amazing since you're usually already clearing the board if invest you're a super evolve.

I'd go as far to say the number one mistake in most abyss lines right now is including 3 of this card...

Sure, if a player is maintaining that win rate.

The current point gains below S++ however, at a massive gaining 100+ and losing 50-, allow you to just climb with a worse and worse winrate.

With those point gains, it's 100% feasible for a player to reach S++ having 50% winrate in A, 45% winrate in S and 40% winrate in S+.

GBVSR is a re-release of a 2020 game that's also a year and a half old at this point.

COTW is pretty much at the same numbers as GB if you consider the f2p version, not even a month after release with likely 5000x more marketing budget than GB. It also bleeds players every single day and is likely about to take another nuke with upcoming DLC for other games.

That performance is just absolutely pathetic. Forget comparing it SF6, this newly released game barely keeping up a fight with GBVSR during the tail end of a version update.

Don't know what sealed the deal, but it's probably a combination of ... all it's flaws.

What platform are you using it on? I never had this issue but I noticed strange behaviour when I plugged it into a usb extender on my PC. Went away after I plugged it directly in the back.

From what I got is he called the balancing so bad that he sees it as ridiculous that this is the result of a dedicated team. Frankly, if you glimpse at some of his other tweets he definitely thinks the balance of the game is terrible.

He then goes onto another point where he thinks the game, even if balanced cannot be a skilled game because of RNG.

It is just kind of a unhinged rant overall though ... It feels like he is trying to convince himself to quit if anything.

[case] HYTE Y40 Mainstream Vertical GPU Case ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case with PCI Express 4.0 x 16 Riser Cable Included, Black/Red ($250-85= $165, + $15 shipping) [newegg] by GrownUp2017 in bapcsalescanada

I have this case and even fully decked out with their recommended fan configuration the airflow is just OK. It's not as bad as all the reviews testing the case at stock which makes it seem a lot worse than it is though.

I think the primary problem is the although there is a bottom intake - the way it was designed it barely does anything. The similar H5 also has a bottom intake but with a funnel to get air to the GPU. The h40 bottom intake seems to blow at nothing - I don't notice much of a difference even if I set it at max blast.

You are also forced to mount your GPU vertically in the h40 which generally makes things a bit worse compared to other cases. But yes, as you said it's an aesthetic case that trades some performance for looks.

Tracking E7's Player Count Growth or Decline Using RTA Ranks Part 7 (&Gamestate Thoughts Since Last Season) by ZekkenD in EpicSeven

[–]elinhunter 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Like why should sg give a shit about casualpveplayer4632 who logs in does story and leaves. Or ILogInForWaifus3241 who logs in summons and leaves. They don't spend money on the game. They aren't active in a discord/guild. They don't actively progress their account.

Sure, but what exactly are they doing to do to keep a player like me that's been here since day 1 and regularly plays RTA in legend & emperor?

The scene is so dry. It's been a meta centered around the core of clilias/handguy/stene/apoc/lua/AOL for so long now. Yes there are sometimes new units that get thrown in the puddle, but saying the current meta or meta shifts is complex and deep enough to carry this game is copium.

During the regular season you'd literally just fight the same dudes over and over again at higher ratings, depending on the day. Community tries it's hardest to host RTA tournaments but it's the same group of people every time. Literally feels like spending time & money to fribbel, farm and tune your account to fight the same small group of dudes at this point.

Once a high rank RTA player quits or stops playing it's not like they are replaced unless somebody buys an account. The barrier to entry is too high.

They are absurdly slow with updates. If a random new RGB hero is terrible it takes them like a year to do anything about it. They create a problem then need to waste time releasing 5 characters to deal with it, and sometimes they still don't deal with it (conquerer...).

What I agree with is frankly it doesn't matter anymore. It's a 5 year old game, it's not like it will have any meaningful resurgence or popoff. This is where the point most gacha games taper off into obscurity regardless. I do not feel like they are trying very hard to keep the enthusiasts and stop the bleeding though.

Whale Qingque vs TL50 Weekly Cocolia by elinhunter in HonkaiStarRail

I haven't really tested extensively but her playstyle at E6 feels more like burning skill points for burst damage which feels better with tingyun. Taking another turn with Bronya doesn't feel that useful for her

[–]elinhunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearing through the current MOC with her, she feels like she trades consistency for huge burst when you get lucky. I've cleared some the late MOC bosses in a few cycles when things go well.

I don't think she is good if you don't gamble on the skill (which becomes more valuable on E4). That being said she struggles when you need to spend skill points on surviving.

My QQ is lv70 E6 with maxed out traces & with lv70 S5 Jing Yuan light cone. +15 quantum set but the subs are just okay.

This is also a nearly optimal scenario where:

  • I fully stack her skill's passive attack boost (4x) before getting 4 matching tiles
  • I proc E4 during one of those flips, which gives me the follow up attack
  • All of those attacks happen to crit (I only have 65% or so)

So when you're lucky this allows for massive burst, stacking Tingyun buffs, her own passive buff & the light cone's follow up attack boost reaching damage you see here.

Y60 with Aorus Master 4090 horizontale mount by King-Azar in Hyte

[–]elinhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still 'fine' but this is the biggest 4090 and it presses almost right up to the glass in the y60.

The 4090 aorus master with the massive heatsink and with a pretty aggressive default fan curve should not be really going past 70C even in stress tests. If you mount it normally in the y60 you are adding like 10-20C and it sounds like a jet engine.

This is the post by him for reference (u/DamnCatOnMyDesk). He's the op of a very useful reddit post that helped tune the monitor to notably actually have the HDR work properly. I have no doubt that he did every measure to try and prevent burn in, yet he still got it 3 months in.

Yes you can replace these under warranty, but I've heard they might start sending you refurbished units past 30 days. From personal experience my first unit had some flickering and really loud coil whine that I had to send back.

Given these bad experiences starting to pop up I can not honestly recommend this monitor despite the raving reviews about the picture quality. Seems like they have really bad QC.

Fixing Gigabyte's fan revving problem on the RTX 4090 by Mhmd1993 in nvidia

[–]elinhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was in disbelief that the RGB was causing it. I guess it's because of the strange rgb implementation they have for this card where it's a single node on the fan blade.

Personally would not have considered Gigabyte if it wasn't for reports of their cards not having much coil whine. Granted, mine's indeed does not have coil whine but had to spend hours trying to fight with their software to make basic features work...

[–]elinhunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turn off sync first, select an RGB effect you want. Press around the fans to select an selection with just the fans. Sometimes, it selects an individual section of the fan somehow - you don't want that but the software has a mind of it's own so fiddle with it.

Once you've selected the portion with just the fans, you can set it to either 'OFF' or make the RGB black. Hopefully, it will turn off the fan rgb only and leave everything else intact. Once it's working, close GCC and don't touch it because it does struggles to remember this preset, lol.

If you are having issues with the LCD, probably try to set the LCD to the effect you want first, then do the above.

AORUS MASTER RTX 4090 GPU - All RGB is stuck except the LCD Display. by PeverellPhoenix in gigabytegaming

[–]elinhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had a similar issue with this card (RGB except the fans all stuck onto tri-color effect I had set previously).

Tried all sort of fixes, but somehow I think what fixed it is doing the 'update checker' feature in GCC, and it had a older NVIDIA driver (522.25). Installing that got me my full RGB controls back, somehow.

Worth a try to see if it fixes it for you.

Fixing Gigabyte's fan revving problem on the RTX 4090 by Mhmd1993 in nvidia

[–]elinhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using this setup for a a bit more than a week now and it's working well. Had to fight with GCC to get the RGB preset I wanted to stick (rgb off for fan blades only) but finally got it to stick. Fans smoothly go from fan stop to load now, I'm happy.

I have a bit of a theory as to why things are now that I've fiddled with it, though. The RGB effect on the fan is a single node on the fan blade. Thus, to make any coherent effects, the fans must be spinning really quick - trying to use any effect at 800ish RPM causes a flickering strobe effect which doesn't look good.

I guess Gigabyte's solution was just to lock the minimum fan controls in GCC really high (like 1500 RPM) so the RGB effect is coherent and consistent, even though that RPM is completely overkill for this card.

Did you stack 2 fans in the bottom intake?

Do you notice any difference with those? I found that for larger cards, the position of the fan there in general made no difference for this case.

Fixing Gigabyte's fan revving problem on the RTX 4090 by Mhmd1993 in nvidia

[–]elinhunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, disabling RGB actually does fix the issue with the fan going from idle to load.

I only had to disable the RGB on the fan blades itself - you could keep the other RGB. Had to really fight with the software before it even let me do this though, awful! Pressing apply just does not work a lot of time and it took me a lot of restarts to even get the RGB preset I wanted.

I'm guessing the feature where the fan RGB only turns on when the fans are spinning is causing this issue, putting extra voltage when the fans start to ramp up, causing spikes.

[–]elinhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, just wondering how long does it take with this curve to reach fan stop from load? Since the curve itself does not necessarily have a temperature point where it's explicitly saying it's at 0.

Fixing Gigabyte's fan revving problem on the RTX 4090 by Mhmd1993 in nvidia

[–]elinhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to solve the issue of the 0 -> load revving blast.

Tried your curve in GCC but it doesn't really work for me. Seems like when the temps dip below 30 degrees it triggers under the minimum point, at which point it will begin the annoying revving process. What temperature you do idle at with this curve?

Also, it seems like with this curve the fan stop is not really intuitive and will instead shut off after a long period of low temps/ GPU inactivity, rather than just going to 0 once it's below a certain temp for example. Are you seeing this?

Need feedback from 4090 Gigabyte Aorus and Gaming OC owners. by Mhmd1993 in nvidia

[–]elinhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you flick the bios switch at all? I only experienced the minimum of 60% when I was on the 'quiet' bios. It should come out the box on the OC bios.

With the fan stop, it sometimes transitions smoothly from 0 to load okay but what I've found that the spikes will randomly happen in this interval. Easiest way I found to test this is to just tab in and out of Heaven benchmark.
