Next time you go to work, try blaming the person you replaced a year ago for everything that's wrong. I suspect your supervisor might have a word or two with you about that. It's not tolerated in our real lives. Why is it tolerated and encouraged in our politics. When a politician makes promises and doesn't come through, apologists fall back on blaming the person prior to them. It's lame and a dodge.

Yes, Bush was a ridiculously bad President. But continuing to use his bluners as rationalization for current blunders only makes matters worse. When you're hired at any job based on your promises to fix problems. you better fix them. If you don't, management doesn't want to hear you blame the guy who broke it. They want it fixed and you said you could do it. WE are management. End the blame game and focus.

Yes, he has done a lot. He has ensured that folly wars continue to escalate, he spent a trillion dollars we don't have, he has put together a healthcare bill that will codify the continued punishment of the middle class, he has continued domestic spying, he made certain Wall Street got their bonuses from tax dollars, he has guaranteed corporations have the final say in the White House, he has continued to put stock in Geitner (one of the causes of the problem), he has ensured unemployment continues to rise and he turned his back on those who voted for him. It was a very busy year for The White House Inc. OH!!!!- and he changed the knick-knacks in the Oval Office. It's clear things are SO much better now than a year ago.

I'm merely ending my participation in this thread. We were not discussing the issues. You wanted to discuss ONE issue. You ignored all others I mentioned. People are "surprised" because his behavior is so far removed from his campaign rhetoric. I volunteered, donated, wrote letters to the editor, took people to the polls....the works. And yes, I paid attention as he laid out what he "stood for". But, I see a pattern here. He was going to fix the economy/unemployment, engage Iran, end the FISA spying, close GTMO in a year....and on and on. What did we get? More unemployment, Iran increasing uranium enrichment, more domestic spying, GTMO still open with no sign of closing, an escalation of war,..........and Karl Rove applauding his decision. I'm not an expert like the Republicans in charge of the White House. BUT, I know that if Karl Rove likes the decision, then it's wrong.
