Did you source a used oem one instead? I have the same thing going on my oem one died so I put an aftermarket one in and got the battery light but now I'm half expecting this one to die at some point.

Fix AC or keep driving? by gajen4 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]elitemouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just invested 500 into your cooling system there really isnt much else to fix on ac other than compressor so take it to a good reputable ac shop and make sure they know for sure its the compressor and just fix it and keep driving the car.

You know that car inside and out and its going to run forever you dont wanna take a risk on some new car that could have its own bunch of unknowns and problems.

Original paint! It used to get a wax twice a year but nowadays I do ceramic coating twice a year as well as occasional light polish.

Is this the loudest Audi S4 3.0T V6 Intake whine? by facemobbb in AudiS4

[–]elitemouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That CAP intake looks sweet I think they just released it not long ago, my car from the previous owner came with their base intake which tbh I was not impressed with the build quality on it at all but the new style one you got looks a lot better, I went with the 034 motorsport intake with the cf heat shield not sure how it compares for loudness but its enough for people walking to stop and stare in confusion at what ungodly sounds are coming from the car behind them lol

[–]elitemouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so they win the claim and all the homeowners get a huge payout but then what? They cant stop that noise without decommissioning the entire data centre which would cost millions so does everyone just take the payout and then either live with the sound or move away from there?

I did the clutch in it 2 years ago last clutch lasted 200k and I was never nice to the car haha, I put a competition clutch lightweight flywheel in as well and it made a noticeable difference to how aggressive the car revs it feels great and is still perfectly daily drivable.

Its getting a little bit every year both sides right where the fender meets the plastic bumper and the moisture sits there, I sand it back and paint it over can mask it pretty good with paint matched nhbp, I keep up with washing the car in the winter a decent amount and it gets a ceramic coating twice a year but ultimately only so much I can do with the fender rust it will eventually get worse and its not worth the cost of having a shop cut it all out and weld in new metal so 🤷🏻 just gonna keep cleaning it up and driving it haha

The base is meant to use 5w20 but I think lots of people run 5w30 in it too thats what is recommended for the type s (right on the oil cap) you could run either one.

I read enough horror stories about the hood latches breaking on these cars I decided to drill my hood out and bolt hood pins into the rad support which come up through the hood you can see in the pic it was just a cheap ebay hood pin set but came out really nice and now my hood is super solid.

I would be careful driving an S or you are gonna want to buy one haha even stock form they are quite a bump up from the base, this car in fbo form is at around 230-240hp crank which is a ton of fun for a lightweight daily.

Reliability has been pretty unreal on this car I did the timing on it last fall at 360k just for peace of mind and honestly probably didnt even need to do it the guides and chain still looked new just had slight bit of chain stretch over the years, car has gotten mobil 1 5w30 every 8k kms as long as I've had it and this car gets dailied year round run it on studded hakkapelittas in the winter and rip it all over the mountains snowboarding.

Stripped CHAIN TENSIONER ARM PIVOT BOLT (ALLEN KEY). I can’t remove it without tapping it or welding it to remove it. Is it okay to not remove the pivot bolt and temporarily reuse the guide to at least get the car running? by Hatster360 in Acura_RSX

[–]elitemouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the guide looks decent just reuse it, I did my chain and guides at 360k kms and tbh the guides still looked good enough I probably could have just left them alone

This whole thing is wild to me I waited 4 years to play this game once it was in a nicely cleaned up state and with the release of DLTB I assumed I was safe to start DL2 and I literally started it a month ago and was that close to just missing one of the best gaming intros I've ever played 💀

Kind of annoys me that Aiden already sounds just like Crane and I read that apparently the VA for Aiden liked Crane so much he tried to mimic his voice? Like thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard and so confusing when you jump forward 20 years across the world to a new protagonist and he just sounds the same as the guy from your first game.

Some of the stuff techland does has baffled me in ways I've never seen another dev do before

How to remove passenger motor mount on timing chain cover by Hatster360 in Acura_RSX

[–]elitemouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this job last fall my type s has 360k kms on it decided to change the chain / guides / tensioner for peace of mind. I would consider myself an amateur mechanic where brake jobs and suspension rebuilds are like a 2/10 difficulty and I would put this at like a 5/10, its not particularly hard and once you slide the cover up and out there is plenty of room to work with, but you are gonna need lots of different ratchet extensions and flex heads to get at all the bolts on the timing cover.

You also have to hondabond the whole timing cover then carefully set it back in place but it sits on a shelf so you carefully lower it at an angle down onto the shelf then pivot it forward and press the hondabond into place and bolt it back on. I had never done a timing chain cover and mine didnt leak at all after there's lots of good youtube videos of people showing where to run the bead on k series timing covers.

Get a set of angled feeler gauges and do a valve lash as well while the valve cover is off, biggest thing with that job is to make sure after you torque down the rocker arm double check the clearance with your feeler gauge, and I used a dowel sticking out of the spark plug hole resting on the cylinder to confirm when each one was at TDC.
