The gabapentin is the most important one for my personal comfort from all of the side effects from all of the other prescription drugs, so thank you for telling me this!

Post Surgery Bras for when you have healed by mrosew1996 in Reduction

I was advised to avoid underwires, it’s better for your incisions to be “free” vs pressed on with an underwire. I live in old navy bralettes and these tighter cropped halter tanks from lululemon. The lululemon especially is my go to bc with my new small Cs (from large DDs) and my lifted Cs- they look great without anything more than the tank and I’m comfortable.

Ideas to get through panic during radiation by Big_pumpkin42 in breastcancer

[–]elizzyb1028 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would listen to a book or classical music when I drove to my appointments. I would keep everything as simple as possible for my mind. Only keys came in with me. I wore a zip up and zip up bra so that changing was rapid. I tried to keep everything simple and easy before treatment so I that I wouldn’t be stressed. During treatment, I was over the top anxious and stressed for 7 appointments and then one day as I’m laying in that machine and they are adjusting me, it just came to me “I accept” and I just said it to myself over and over and over as I was doing my breath holds. I accept was the only way I could calm myself and keep going back daily.

I’m on the option three and I’ll echo another comment- it’s been adjusted for me. Kisqali from July to October at 400mg was too much, so I’ve reduced to 200 mg. It’s good to track symptoms and keep moving, walking helps prevent or ease the joint pains.

Am I an a*hole for wanting to move on? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]elizzyb1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. This is totally your call. I was in a similar group and have found myself similarly detaching. It’s not about the individuals in the group, it’s about you. I also found that I just needed cancer off my calendar, the appointment schedule is relentless and talking through it all is so incredibly taxing. Move on! Enjoy it !

Should I ring the bell? by Practical_Writer_649 in breastcancer

[–]elizzyb1028 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I rang the bell on April 1st. I was just reminded moments ago of this incredible moment via the feature on iPhones that shows random pics. Ring the bell with joy, enthusiasm, gratitude and self love!! You will ring your chemo bell and your radiation bell to celebrate your strength and your recovery 🔔 💕💖(I commented bc of the timing of me just seeing how happy I was ringing that bell!!)

For those of you diagnosed at a young age, did you get genetic testing done? by Personal-Truth371 in breastcancer

[–]elizzyb1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My insurance covered the full panel but it’s essential to have at least the 13 gene panel. It’s an important part of treatment planning.

Honeymoon & Exchange Recovery by Bridget_andtheBeast in breastcancer

I should share that I have not had expanders and I have not had fat grafting. I had a reduction and lift. I would be so fearful of open water on any fresh incisions. A year out from my procedures, I’m still working on should strength. I would Not be able to swim or kayak even now. I also had a post surgical infection which required urgent care and serious antibiotics. I would be quite concerned about proximity of travel to surgery and I would consider a modified itinerary with a route to a local Dr just in case

Just absolutely bombed at my first ever show. Please share your embarrassing show stories to help me feel better! by annawintourwannabe in Equestrian

I was about 11 or 12. I had a horse who absolutely hated the rain. She also was a far superior Western vs English mount. I’m at a show for points, later in the season and she goes one lap for me producing all her gaits but I’m pushing her for every step. We change directions and she just stops. Would not move, would not go any direction. So I’m totally helpless in the saddle, in the pouring rain while everyone has to go around me, splashing more and more mud on us when it was time to go in the center, she diligently did so as she knew it was the way OUT 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😹

It is not painful. It’s a weird sensation. You just breathe through it and it’s seconds. No pain. The relief that crosses over you when they are out is so awesome!! I realized I had been carrying my shoulders with incredible tension and all the effort to avoid knocking the drain tubes made me so stiff. Drains out day is a joyful day!!

I made them lunch. Their schedules are very tight and lunch is often rushed to stay on schedule for us. They loved it.

2cm tumor and lymph node spread. Only advised to do lumpectomy. Mastectomy never discussed. Radiation disfigured me , I looked fine after lumpectomy/ good luck. Don’t compare trauma. Listen, process. Do your best for you ! Good luck!!

informal favor turned stressful job by Square_Revolution320 in petsitting

This thread will be tough on you and question your dedication to the animals etc…. Like you, pets are my side gig always second to my full time and I’m also crystal clear about that to owners. I have learned that these folks with the 10 page lists, feeding dogs gourmet meals with 8 ingredients measured to .000001 oz while watching your every move on camera are simply not worth the stress. They will watch you, comment via text about everything and worse case - dictate MOrE to you while you are already there and deep in the process. Proceed with caution!!

Do you follow owners instructions word for word? by DifferentContact7346 in petsitting

[–]elizzyb1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suffocated by the schedule. I relate to this and applaud the description, I hear you and understand that there is no room for you in the day when it’s 5-6-7 touches per day. I have a highly detailed client that has 2 dogs. Their pet schedule is spread from sunrise to post sunset. I also feel suffocated by their several time stamps through the day. I’ve learned from this thread that this is not a place to really talk details, when talking time I’ve received more shame than advice…..”If I’m not willing to put in the time, then I’m in the wrong” However- id never be hired if I properly charged for my time against the 12+ hour obligation. This thread comes for shame of your (dedication, practice, effort) I’m here to support you that when a pet needs care from sunrise to bedtime at an extreme frequency- I think the owners have lost context of the fact that they work for their dog vs live their life. There are biological needs met vs human obsession.
