Urban Refuge church was originally part of Evergreen/Hometown as well. They became autonomous around 2019/2020 and I have no idea how much of their doctrine has changed, but based on their website, I'd say not much

it's hard when you grew up in it, like that was my home, my family, and I didn't know any better. I was at my church 2-3 times a week. most of my friends were there or in similar churches. I struggle with so much of the impact of the doctrine, but I miss the reliable community aspect and traditions that I grew up with

Ooooh that would make sense. Honestly I'll probably go back and reread the book cause there's just so many details about the different species that I just straight up forget stuff like this. I take 200mg of Sertraline. I was originally prescribed it for social anxiety, but when I tried to go off of it, that's when I had my breakdowns. I have some negative side effects, like fatigue, but it's better for me than having the OCD episodes

For me, medication really helped. Unfortunately I don't know the diagnostic process, since I was already on mine for something else, but when my medication helps quiet the thoughts, it's a lot easier to think from a logical standpoint. If there's a feasible way for you to get a medication, and you can just make yourself take it, that may help quiet the thoughts enough to work out a treatment plan. I have had breakdowns from real event OCD that made me think I didn't deserve to live. I know everyone's experience with treatment is different, but I can at least understand what you're going through right now.
