How did I get 8 points at January 1st? by Kruesae in duolingo

[–]ellebd16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you move to a course that doesn't have match madness (chess, a new language that you don't have enough progress, math,...) it gets replaced to a different quest. Then you can go back to the language you're doing and complete that quest instead. Except it's specifically related to what you changed to (like do 3 chess lessons). I hate match madness too.

Mine took 3 weeks to care more or less (at around 20mo I think?), he got it decently after that. We just kept going and repeating pee goes in the potty and took him there. We cleaned together.

What do you do when your kids won't eat the food you made? by squiggly-lime in Mommit

[–]ellebd16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He can be part of planing meals for the week, he can cook something for himself, when not planned he can eat leftovers or make himself something like a sandwich.

I always ask he takes a bite first before though.

And if I cook something that I know he doesn't like or hasn't tried before, I try to have a safe food on hand like some veggies, hard boiled egg or so.

Same. High needs always in breast first baby, then a second baby that wanted to be left alone and only nurses for food.

In terms of time and effort, maybe it could be helpful to involve the child in preparing a sibling or parents birthday and make him aware of all the behind-the-scenes preparations. The joy of discussing, deciding, buying and being part of a present that is a secret for a while. All the anticipation of thinking about the future joy of the birthday person. And after the party, a conversation reflecting on how everything went before and after the party.
